People reviewing this recently are most likely reviewing the emulated version on Atari 50. And yeah, I respect that compilation as a museum collection but its nearly impossible to replicate this game outside of that original setup. One player sits in the cockpit and drives the front wheels of the truck while the 2nd player stands behind them looking at the screen over their head and controls the rear axle. Nothing else like it and a CPU can't replicate a person because your constantly blaming one another for the crashes. Great fun. Played at Funspot in NH.

I enjoyed this quite a bit. Beautiful presentation and good story. Setting was unique and varied enough throughout the game to not get stale. I felt like there were usually a few options on how to get through an area depending on how sneaky I wanted to be. Puzzles were mostly simple with a couple that I was just missing the visual cue on but got it eventually. Probably better than the first game? I dunno both were good. Time well spent.

Easily one of the best presentation of the compilation packages that I've played. It was like an interactive museum complete with video interviews, original commercials and promotional materials and coverage of the games from that time period. The games themselves are not surprising. They are what I would expect. Honestly, this isn't my era but I can appreciate what is being delivered here. The new remakes iron out some of the issues but still, these are basic games by anyone's definition but probably worth checking out even if you don't think it's for you. This is my kind of edutainment.

Unique control scheme that just lets you move the joystick (now shaped like a beer tap) up and down to pour and slide the beers down the bar. The 2nd joystick is a traditional 4-way restrictor plate to move your bartender. Very unique game and pretty addictive. Played the Budweiser version at Funspot in NH.

This was good. Good music, tight controls, nice and bright levels, interesting upgrade system. It all works. The only real drawback is mostly because of the advances the genre (and even later games in this series) made. It kind of makes you want to play the later (read: "better") games but if you're interested in this and appreciate classic games then its really hard to be disappointed in what it delivers.

This was obviously great. I prefer the original NES graphics but these were nice. The voices weren't as annoying as in Super Mario Advance so that's a plus. The big new things are the ability to play as Luigi with that SMB2 jump physics and the 32 new levels you can access from the start menu. They are basically remixed levels with special items to collect. They include powerups and enemies from all the previous 2D mario games and really its worth checking it out though they can get pretty tough.

I'm pretty terrible at this one but I've been playing it so long I feel like I may suddenly become a wizard. It hasn't happened yet but I'm hopeful. I think I made it through the first loop once but honestly that may have been a dream because last time I played I got nowhere.

Played this multiplayer with my wife. It was fun. Pretty hectic and without freeplay enabled pretty impossible I would think. We beat several stages and had a good time. I would like to have had more time with it so I'll definitely try it again with her some time. I guess that speaks well of it though since I want to play more.

Its old but still pretty addictive. I always enjoy my time spent with this machine. I don't have much experience with the home version but the arcade is pretty good. The last time I played it I was sooo close the the high score it was painful. Got 1910 at Game Terminal in Nashville, TN

So this was a good game but not a good Final Fantasy. Like most point out, it was all action focused and I just couldn't get into it. I played on regular difficulty but used the ring that let me auto-dodge and that felt a bit better but I still would rather a different combat system. Music was great as usual. Graphics were excellent. I actually enjoyed the side-quests so don't believe all the hate about those. They were fine and while some were pointless most fleshed out the story in a nice way. The lack of meaningful leveling or item management was a bummer but makes sense when they're making a God of War game instead of a JRPG. Bottomline- This is fine but I don't want to see this become a trend.

I've played this one before but this time I really spent some time on it. I felt like I did pretty good but I don't know maybe I'm terrible. I guess that's part of good game design though. I felt accomplished and successful after only maybe 15 minutes and still wanted to get better. It can get pretty hectic after multiple enemies start appearing in the same tunnel as you so you have to try to utilize those rocks to wipe them out at once instead of the trusty pump and pop method. If you see it give it a try though it isn't a standard arcade game.

A good trip. I enjoyed Control a bit more. More action oriented and more sci-fi than horror. That doesn't mean this wasn't great though. A step up from the original which isn't a surprise. The story is the strong point and it is bonkers and I'm 100% there for it. The musical elements are actually very solid. A great time and an easy recommendation.

This game was good but no where near as good as the first one. So that's kind of a bummer. It took a long time before it felt like I was making any real progress. It had a few things you had to unlock with ability points but that wasn't made clear and a few of the abilities you gain are only used like once or twice so they felt meaningless... might has well have been collecting colored keys. It had a lot of secrets to uncover and that was fun and the art was nice. The sound was weird though. The sound effects were way to loud. Had to adjust them down to the lowest setting just so my speakers would bust.

I played this one a lot... I mean a LOT. My grandparents had the machine at their house so any time I'd visit for summer vacation or Christmas it was pretty much my only method of entertainment. After 10+ years of putting in the time I became pretty good. I usually set the hi-score whenever I play one in the wild and walk away all smug. There is no "end" that I'm aware of but a quarter can last a good long time and never really feels boring. If I'm not paying close attention I can die on one of the earlier stages so even those require at least a bit of discipline and keep you engaged. Good times for sure and probably my favorite classic era arcade game.
Got 110040 at Game Terminal in Nashville, TN

The best part of the game really is that voice. The gameplay itself is pretty standard shooting and collecting the little shiny bits that pop out of the asteroids and avoiding the enemies. I never made it very far so I'm not sure if it changes up later on. Overall I play it for the atmosphere more than anything but you have to try it at least once to get threatened.
