Really quaint feeling game with very pretty visuals! The rating seems unflattering but I'd recommend it to someone that wants a simple straightforward dungeon crawler type thing. I personally found it a bit too simplistic for my tastes.

It's always a treat though to have a type of game like this that isn't based in euro fantasy yet again.

The first time I played it was in 2021 and I thought it was wonderful
Today, in 2024, I have replayed it and it still seems like the perfect game to chill out without worries.

Although there is no dialogue, the story still hits the heart a little, because if you have experienced several moves for different reasons, you can feel quite identified (as is my case).
If you like ordering, peace of mind and not thinking about anything else, I recommend that you play it, it is well worth the experience even if it is just once

in case you're not aware, it's a lot like doom 3 because it runs on the same engine (id tech 4). same goes for quake 4 and wolfenstein 2009 (both of which id rec more than this)

@gruel yeah that's the one thing i'm missing in durandal so far, but i think i'd still take the atmosphere if given a choice. not sure if the engine even supported both simultaneously lol

@imshitting420 i did write something along those lines; hadn't played it since i was a teen and i didn't really care about reading terminals back then. deleted it the moment i realized that wasn't a very reliable memory
