A fun game to play!
Of course, another collab stream, another game played with one of my dearest friends - @Cikoni on Twitch (amazing guy by the way, if you do stumble across this review go give him a follow, he is very fun to watch and always plays retro games or just games like night in the woods, cat lady, sally face... different variaties).
I would say this game was definetly a thrilling experience, but kind of repetetive at parts. The story felt rather rushed, everything happened super fast, the quick time event actions weren't as thrilling as I hoped they would be, and the ''boss'' fight in the end with Harvey was nothing that good? (I enjoy the Scarface reference tho)
But somehow even with its flaws I enjoyed the characters. Especially Leo- drastic, more aggresive, just super natural, real, relatable... I love this guy so much. Altough with Vincent i can't say much because i didn't play as him a lot and I couldn't focus on his way of talking and stuff, because I was just on Leo's side.

I didn't like the endings. While trying to not spoil, i'll just say that it was ridicilous to just make us feel that vulnerable out of nowhere with this plot twist and these endings. They felt unfullfilling, non-realistic, and super overdramatic. I'm sorry, but I just couldn't feel like it was actually the end of the game, but rather just some movie that i'll just delete after that and never think about.
The game was fun tho, navigating to do the different objectives while also having to be stealthy a lot of the times (with a mix of teamwork) was definetly an amazing experience! :)

Interesting game.
I do have a lot to say about it... Altough it was rather enjoyable for most of the time, since I was playing it with a friend, that was the biggest reason why I liked it.
Having to see my friend's reaction to what's happening in the game was for sure fun inducing, but from this point on there were literally unbearable areas where you just ask yourself ''When the fuck is this going to end?''
The game kept bugging and it was kicking my friend out of my server, so we had to wait until the next checkpoint so I can invite them once again (which happened at the Wesker boss fight, mind it.).
Sometimes the grenades or bombs or even bullets I used against the enemies weren't working. Like it wasn't like it was going through them, it was hitting them, but they had no reactions whatsoever so I was like ''Did I just waste everything I had?''
Having anything in this game is so fucking hard, like the game would just give me rifle ammo even though i don't have a fucking rifle and just give me coins, which... is idiotic because I can't even buy bullets, or anything to keep me surviving the literal guys that are with rocket launchers against me.
The enemies have unbearable amount of health. I would just hit them for one hour and they would just still get up and try and get me. Sometimes I would use the shocking stick on one enemy for like 1-2 minutes and when i went to mind my business I got ambushed by the same creature right after I thought it's death.
I know some enemies have weak points, but i swear I was hitting them. Like it's not so hard to get where is the weak point, but still sometimes it was straight up so hectic because there's enemies surrounding you from everywhere.
Too many spawned enemies. Like I get it -ohhh team building, you should work with your team mate through this, but dude, it's literally every chapter? Like you just don't get even 1 minute of processing what happened in the other chapter, it was just straight up: ''Oh god we went through a boss now..... wait there is a whole gang waiting for me with shocking sticks, rocket lauchers, ak-74's, guns and explosives'' Neat!
I felt nothing towards the characters. Even though I liked them.. It was only because before this i have played some resident evil games and I knew them from there. There was no core to the characters, except Chris' lore with Jill, but that's it. Even there it was just off putting and ... weird, in my opinion.
The AI of Sheeva is worse then any AI i have stumbled across in any game. Thank God i played this game with a friend, because when my friend was getting kicked out by the game from my server, I had to work with the AI, and it literally wasn't working. It was standing in one place, freezed, or just talking something when i tell her to come to me it would be like ''I CAN'T!'' like girl what do you mean you can't, you are literally almost in front of me, you just have to JUMP.
Or at the Wesker battle she didn't want to go to the other side so she can jump on the rock and come to me. She was just standing in one place, not moving, literally doing nothing and staring into the void, i guess.
Overpowered side enemies that you meet a lot in the game, annoying bosses (which i have to say, the design on some of them were really good, and disgusting at the same time. Some of them were straight up fun to defeat because they all had their patterns and weak points you so you can just figure out how to go with the situation and how to handle everything), bad AI, bad servers, stupid mechanics, no character development at all, ugly graphics (like literally it looks like a piss filter on top of the game, even when the game tried to put some pretty scenes it was just ... not enough to vibe with me.), extremely nerve-wracking areas, where you wouldn't even know what the hell is your objective and you just do stuff because you have to do them while being ambushed by 213098210938091283098123098123 bugs and other monsters.
Also, why the fuck are the moving mechanics and the camera angles so shit? Like why is sheeva tossed all the way to the side while Chris is at the middle of the screen like he SHOULD be??? (not exactly in the middle, but still on a position that's normal for the resident evil games or games that have over the shoulder camera. ) Trying to turn with Sheeva was a literal hell, let me not mention that there were sections where you are on a platform that's moving or a boat and you have to shoot enemies. Hello? No.
It was a good vibe, like I said, because I was playing with my friend. But you can't believe what type of rant I did on my stream just because I got mad about me getting one tapped by a bug just because i wanted to go around it and it grabbed me somehow.

Finally finished this masterpiece on Twitch, and I have to say, it was the most fun experience ever.
Even though I had a doubt that it will meet my expectations, because of the doubts i was having because of the whole change of the graphics and textures, but I got totally proven wrong.
It's an amazing game, that feels like an arcade game with all the point system and all the different weaponary choices you can pick from with all the points you have gathered from killing dinos, it's very action-like just because of the whole dynamic with the dinos, and we have different types of dinosaurs and even dinowiki about them with information about the creatures and how we could kill them easily sometimes.
I like the story. It's much more on surface level then the first one I felt like, even though the premise does feel a lot more harder than the first game.
It's so sad that from the ending point of the game after this the game wasn't built upon anymore, but I'll always remember Regina and Dylan, and i'll never forget the great time I had while playing with them!

Everything is interesting about this game.
The music, very much exciting, especially the guitar solo at the credits,
The characters, very much filled with personality and power, of course i can't just overlook the most underrated DUO ever- Regina and Dylan, AND MY BOY DAVID, WHO DESERVED MORE SCREEN TIME T_T,
The cutscenes, very impressive, I was so glad I could see more cutscenes from this game,
The combat system, very pleasing, it was sometimes rather annoying when dinos are popping out of everywhere, and it felt like it was rather simple to get a lot of points, which means it totally lacks the survival horror perspective of it, since I didn't feel like there is any threat of me going out of bullets or anything of this sort- like it was in the previous game. Which isn't actually a minus, of course, since I had fun just blasting the creatures and try to not get hit so I can get even extra points.

It was a fun experience, I just wish that there was a game showing us how Regina came back to Dylan ;____;
Also I just saw now how much time it took me to finish a 3 hour game.... I should really make a better schedule for future games, LOL

Uhhhh...
Really pretty, really aesthetic, rather interesting, but so, so, so, so bat shit crazy dude.
I feel like my ass got ripped just trying to get through the casual bosses, and that's not even the worst part. Let me talk about the BIGGER bosses.
Hard to beat, super hard to get their patters most of the times, and even though i love how detailed it was made I just couldn't get into why some of the bosses were SO random and everything was so unbearable at some point.
I was struggling so much only for the 7th level to be just ''go around the monster without getting hit and go into a door'' which is literally the most easiest thing ever and then gives me the most crazy ass boss.
I like this game, the aesthetics really were amazing, the colors were perfect for me, quite bright, but not so much, it's the ambience that I was digging, but most things were just taken from the first game, which isn't always a bad thing, but i just can't overlook the fact that this is just the same game but .... longer?
I liked the companions, super cute, super sweet designs, but i didn't like how this game is giving you for an example earth companions when you need Kine in the water. At least it did this for me a couple of times and it wasn't very cool.
I liked how you can get the powers of your enemies until you get hit (even though even then you can get it back), I enjoyed this aspect more than the first game also.
The music is somehow supppppper similar to the first one, with songs from the first one here and there from what i heard, but i didn't mind it, it was good enough to set the vibe.

I love how this game is literally saying in the end ''The end???'' , while i am playing it in 2023 with the franchise being with 12093810928398123 games already, lol.

Such a short yet sweet game.
I really enjoyed playing it on stream, the music on every level was cute, the bosses were super interesting and you really should observe more your surroundings and get some tactics on how to beat many of them, which is why this game was super enjoyable for me.
Little Kirby is so cute in this one, i just couldn't stop saying ''awhhh'' to the little pixel art frame animations, it's just too good.... TOO GOOD.
Gameboy graphics will never fail to suprise or make me feel good. (even though this is the fist GB game i have actually played ever... so...)

It was quite repetetive and nerve-wracking at times because of how the levels were made and how the layout was, plus i was playing GBC so... the colors were really sometimes making me feel nauseous, and it was getting quite scummy at some point, but the sweet ending was worth it, i loved it.
Plus the scene where Kirby is holding a sign saying ''Bye, Bye!'' ah, precious, he is THAT guy.

Right now i'm playing Dream Land 2 on stream, so if you want to check me out make sure to check me out on my Twitch: MaryyHill! :)))

I never thought I would replay this game once again just to get a 5 second UFO ending, but I did, and i am so proud of that, it was totally worth it!

I just had to finish this amazing game once again just to analyze it more and get to appreciate it even more.
Finished it in 5 hours... my first playthrough was i think 9 hours, so this is an amazing progress! : >

A game that does not deserve to be compared this badly with Resident Evil
I mean, they are made by Capcom, fair, and they are quite similar, but come on, it's gory horror with dinasaurs! What's there not to like ? Except the literal tight corridors filled with dinos...
The characters are cool, i like the choices that you can make because it really makes you think ''damn, should i do some hard puzzles or just beat up dinosaurs? '', and i am all up for it !
I really liked it, for 1999 game the cutscenes (like the ending one that is like... prolly the only one there lmao) are pretty cool, just like with silent hill 1, it's admirable.
The voice acting is sweet, there is this jankyness to it that i particulary like, the combat is pretty cool, i like how detailed this game is.
Different bullets for different things, different heals for different things, there is even bleeding that isn't exactly the best thing but it is a good detailed touch.
Different key cards for different doors, even if you wonder around, if you pay enough attention it will be good enough, and i like it! You have to fight for the progress, and you have to really connect the dots quite well.
Also i started on nov 22, got a lot of progress in nov 23 and got stuck at the generator part because i missed i have to get a fingerprint sample from dr. kirk, so... if you don't connect the dots you see what happens, lol, i just now finished it on 4 dec after just watching guides of what i should do, even though it's the smallest detail that is mentioned in the game, lol. But that's just me being terrible at gaming.
But anyway, an enjoyable little geim, that i enjoyed more than Resident Evil, and i'm not saying that i hate resident evil, but come on... this one has so much small details to it that makes it so cool.

Another game that I finished on my stream, I was having a blast.
So far this is one of the hardest game I have ever played (plus Rule of Rose). It's filled with monsters, super tight corridors, MATH puzzles, which I totally died to, because I had to sit for half an hour just thinking what the hell I should do.... but outside of this the puzzles weren't very hard, some of them were actually pleasing to do.
What I didn't like are the enemies and where they were spawned most of the times, because I couldn't even run past a big Cancer without losing half of my health and having to restart or just use my heals, which in the end wasn't a very good option.
The monsters... only one of those had an actual cool design and it was easier to dodge, and it was the Closer. Even if they were big and rather threatening, I still managed to dodge them every time I came across them and still feel rather nervous around them.
The others were simply annoying. One was jumping, another one was just sprinting at me, blocking my way and slicing my ass, or there was one that was IMPOSSIBLE to dodge because they were flying AND had spinning knifes all over them. So with the enemies... it wasn't such great experience.
The ambience... it was alright. I can't say that I enjoy it more than SH1 and SH2, but it was good. It was nerve-wracking, stress indulging and good enough to make me go crazy.
I loved the small jumpscares throughout the game, I could totally see, that even if they made the game in a rush, they still took it seriously.
The characters- I liked them. They were not unbearable to look at or listen to, I liked most of them, and the other ones like the ''villains'', after I was enlighten on their backround i felt some kind of empathy towards them, and I like it.
The voice acting at times was cringe, but the ending totally got me because of how Heather's voice was breaking as she was mourning her loved one.
The mechanics- god, was I one of the few that had a problem with Heather literally falling out in every hole she sees? Like I would just GENTLY sneak past a whole, and she would be like 'Oh? A whole? LET ME JUST FALL'' which instantly was followed by her screaming and this dreadful ass game over screen which made me just want to bury myself to the ground and feel the guilt from only just falling into a hole.
The fighting was kiiiind of hard, but alright. If only Heather could dodge or maybe back away or SOMETHING in some preferable and good speed, and not only just sit there and walk around like a snail.
Boss fights.... Most of them were unbearable, I had to use safe states, like A LOT of them, a lot of bullets, a lot of heals... And the final boss totally got my ass just trying to beat it with one med kid, bad status and almost no bullets... Trust me, after I finished the boss fight I was BAWLING MY EYES OUT just out of excitement because I was finally finished with the game.
So the bosses weren't very appealing, the monsters weren't, the puzzles were fine, the ambience was fine, rather amazing, the characters were good, the voice acting was catchy and the backround to some characters, also, and the lore, so it's good enough for me to give it a 4 and start the infamous Silent Hill 4.
Check me out on Twitch if you would like to see me playing variety of games. I am doing a Silent Hill marathon, but for now I am going to get some rest from it and after 1-2 weeks I'll start the 4th installment. And yes, I am planning to play all the games, even the worst ones :>>(not the most recent one Ascesion tho, fuck this one)

This game was fun to play, but in the end- the ending's just weren't worth it.
I have to appreciate how Chilla's art always brings up the most scary and natural sides of society, and tries to make tragic/horror games with plots like these, but I wasn't all so hyped for it in the end, since it just made me be like ''meh'', and just move on.
Not memorable enough, nothing that can keep me into the game, or make me say ''okay, this is going to my favourites'', and it's like that with every chilla's art game, but i guess i always expect something with those games and that's why in the end i always play them.
It's a good one, totally not so different that the other recent ones, but it was fun to play (at some parts of course), the stealth part was really fun, having to find the keys and batteries while trying to hide from the 2 characters that are trying to find us was truly an interesting thing to do, and it was thrilling. So i give chilla's art that.

A game that once i started it made me feel a total respect towards the silent hill team, even more after the first one.

When i started Silent Hill 2, i was left with an annoyed taste because of the whole apartments area, because it was so so so confusing for me, it didn't give me justice, i was about to actually drop the game, but i choose to be patient, and damn how happy i am for making this decision.
Such a beautiful, mysterious, tragic, eerie and depressing game. Filled with beautiful yet depressing scenery, amazing puzzles, flawless characters that i can say with no doubt i prefer more than the ones in silent hill 1, even though SH1 for me is also, flawless, cool combat, even though sometimes very very picky and risky, cool enemies, amazing bosses, fantastic soundtrack, good voice acting (for me, at least, it did set up the right atmosphere), and overall an amazing experience.
You can totally see how this game takes itself so seriously yet you have things like UFO ending and DOG endings, it's like back then the developers just knew how to keep the players busy and interested in playing the game multiple times only to get an avchievement, and I so so so so respect that.
This game just tutned out to be something way more amazing than i thought it would be.
Playing it on stream maybe made me look dumb, but in the end I had to much fun with it.

(Also i cried a bit when Mary was reading the poem in the ending, the voice acting is SO FUCKING GOOD, god, it actually made me tear up and feel even more depressed(

Woah... Rule of rose.
I played it on stream, and i didn't want to be one of the people that have dropped it, so i choose to finish it and grind as much as i can for heals, i took time off stream also, just so i can finish it by myself and feel rewarded afterwards.
This game is pretty harsh on the player. The bosses have insane hit boxes, they are insanely overpowered, the main character is rather annoying and too weak at times, but i have to say it didn't make me drop the game even by the end, i just felt too ... into it.
That's why it's not 5 stars.
It's beautiful, it's mesmerizing, it's impressive, it's risky.... But.... It doesn't do justice on people that are playing it for the first time or people that don't play games all the times and are not used to it.
I had to replay some parts a loooot of times just to get through, but from my end it was because i am stubborn and i wanted to see the story because it's not the same on youtube, but for other people tho.... they would straight up say it's dogshit, and they are probably right, but this game is just so weirdly charming, it makes me want to get into it more and more, and into the story, also.
Such a charming way of presenting such an unfortunate, unlucky story, in such matter that it feels like an old story tale book.
I finished both rule of rose and silent hill 2 today, so you can check out my stream if you are interested :> :

Iconic.
That's the word i am going to use for this game.
You can see just how impressive it is and how seriously it was taken... Silent Hill is a true horror, truly an experience that made me feel scared, paranoid, mad, pleased, emotional and even happy.
Such amazing visuals, the camera angles can be spotted just at the start of the game, as the camera moves everytime you move to a different area or angle, or whatever. But it's not the moving that matters- it's how interesting it looks as we do it, for an example- the staircase angle in the lighthouse. It's THAT impressing that the whole game i was just shocked.
The characters are interesting, most of them are with truly depressing backrounds, but i think that as you get more and more into the game you can just see how in depth this game takes everything, and it's amazing. It truly brings people together to unravel every little bit of the game.
Amazing puzzles- from hard zodiac puzzles to literal connect the small dots puzzles that are pretty lighthearted. I loved every single puzzle there, even the most cryptic ones. They make you think out of the box, see new posibilities, make you think critically towards everything you see and this is what truly made me want to finish the game.
The enemies- meh.... they look cool, especially the bosses, but i was not a fan of how when you go to a new area 40 enemies that need 8 shots to die are jumping you all and cornening you. I felt pretty claustrophobic, but it wasn't so bad for me to dislike the game or feel tired of it. In the contraty- i felt like i want to play more.

This game just totally brings out nostalgia. I can't argue on the fact that everything this game has make me feel sad about what the recent silent hill games are. But... This one is special, and i will appreciate it strongly, everyday.

I played this on the Twitch channel, and a lot of sweet people joined, so make sure you come by and hang out with us for Silent Hill 2!!! :D
https://www.twitch.tv/maryyhill

Such an amazing survival horror game... i just can't process how impressive it is for it's year of release.
Haunting Ground was one of the most panicking, nerve-wracking, pleasing and beautiful experience i've had i awhile while playing a game.
There's so much into it, so let me actually get into why i enjoyed this game-
The soundtrack- every character has such a unique theme song. It makes you feel a certain way about a character and your reaction when you encounter them, for an example- Daniella. Her theme song totally depicts her ill personality and struggles, as she has a strong grudge against the main character, which is why her whole theme song hit every right place in my head, which made me just want to listen to the song over and over again because of how weird and yet unique it is.
Or Ricardio's - even if he wasn't MUCH of a strong threat, his theme song was literally screaming PANIC. It was how i felt when he was literally chasing us with a gun in his hands, just running at us at a high speed...
The lore- it made me want to look into it more. It's so disgusting and terrifying yet brave for the directors and writes to do something like this. I won't get into much details, but for me it was intriguing enough to make me want to play the game more even if I was struggling at times.
The setting- The Italian castle was really well furnitured. Nice atmosphere, beautiful design, yet some kind of claustrophobic feeling hinting at us that we are being watched or that there is a big threat coming for us.
The angles- i loved them. Everytime we move the angles were changing, which is a pretty common thing for games like these, but with this one is like the Silent Hill 1 type of camera movement that i noticed and was left pretty pleased by it. (By the way, let me tell you again, that i streamed this game on my twitch channel : MaryyHill, and right now i am currently streaming Silent Hill 1 also! Both are my first playthroughs, so it is quite exciting.)
The characters- good designs, amazing job at the voice acting (especially Daniella, LIKEE...), and they are quite memorable. You can feel a lot of things while getting into their stories and situation- like disgust, even empathy.
Hewie- i loved the whole mechanic with Hewie, even though sometimes it was really pissing me off at how disobedient he is even though i was always praising/petting him and giving him treats and food to regain stamina.
There was even a bug for me in the game where Hewie didn't let me progress into the game because he didn't want to open one particular door that he had to open, but, I got through this, so....
I like Hewie's character. He is not just some side kick, he is a big part of this game and out character is sometimes depending on Hewie A LOT, like on boss fights, and i enjoyed it. Watching Hewie biting someone's ass was the most satisfying things ever!
Plus let me just tell you how sweet his design is, him and Fiona are literally like angels, which was kind of hinted a lot of times in the game just by the vulnerability and innocence of Fiona's look, while Hewie was her ''guardian'' of some sort.

What i didn't exactly like is the sexualization in this game, also the fact that there were bugs that i had to get pissed at for hours, plus the whole Hewie thing, but overall the problems are not so big that i wouldn't rate it 5 stars. In fact, i think this may be a favourite game material. It totally is.

While making a small marathon on stream of all chilla's art games, or at least the more mainstream ones, I figured this one is by far the worst one i have played, next to Yuki Onna and The ghost train.
Really bland plot, super confusing, really random, and it's just such a turn off. It looks like a cheap copy of Silent Hill or P.T.
There is no character development in this game, or character AT ALL, it's like i am just floating around doing the dirty work while the character doesn't even have decent human reactions or anything to just give to the plot.
This game is filled with jumpscares that will scare you for a moment, but it's nothing really, i gotta say even the jumpscares aren't good.... Just some typical moment scare that gets forgotten after 6 seconds max... And that's the whole game.
Really loud noises it's a big flaw of this game too. Plus in mostly every chilla's art game ever. Like, no, i don't need a bass boosted fart to keep me up at night, i need something more thrilling and actually scary.
You don't really feel the threat until the last chapter where something ACTUALLY chases you. You just feel like you are running around non-stop, basically doing the same thing over and over again, as it gets darker and darker and dumber and dumber.

I liked how smooth it is, tho, when you were looking around you just feel the smoothness, so i liked this about this game, and that's probably the only thing i liked.
