The game where I would say was when Mario Kart was starting to get good (as in quality). That said there are quite a few hiccups, such as drifting being slippery, CPU's being brutal and the item balancing not being the best. But compare to its 3 predecessors, it easily outclasses them by a big margin.

It's less that it's a poorly made game and more so on the fact that this game is not for me.
