The Stanley Parable for the I can fix her/make her worse crowd.

Transforming courses is a genius concept for a kart racer and I hope another game cough Mario Kart 9 cough rips it off in the future.

Can’t wait to see every Mario spin-off for the next decade to have the Wonder flower as an item/power-up.

Rare 3D indie Metroidvania with some solid puzzles and exploration combined with some pretty awful writing.

Liked the first part of the game more before it started getting more serious, but still great throughout.

Wish it was a bit longer, but once gameplay clicks in this it clicks. We need more heist and hacking games.

Held back by some technical issues and some weaker gameplay sections (both issues imo fixed in Chicory) this is a wholesome and overall positive story that more people should experience.

Enjoyed the first three worlds, but the last two worlds are just difficult in a frustrating way, unlike plenty of standout difficult games that manage to thread the needle of being difficult, but fair.

Fun little game, choosing who lives and dies as a reaper is a great concept, but nothing really standout.

I remember my Mom buying me this game at Toys”R”Us in the summer of 2002 when we lived with my Grandmother for the summer. For whatever reason something about this game freaked me out and I could never get past the opening movie. I was an interesting child….

Anyway now that I’m 28 instead of 6 or 7 I decided to face my fears, and yeah I wasn’t missing much. The embedded classic cartoons are a neat touch (not that there is any reason to watch those in PS1 quality in 2023, but in the early 2000s it would of been neat), but rest is very much the epitome of the licensed bargain bin bad game you would play as a young kid and be wistfully nostalgic for. Alas, I was too scared at the time to get that nostalgia so I was left with only the bad game.

With Pizza Tower out and other Wario Land 4 spiritual successors on the horizon, can some indies circle back around to make Wario Land 3 successors? The bite-sized level-based Metroidvania style is something I wish we would see more of.

I could probably list 5-6 different issues with game (ex. focusing on band drama for way too much for 75% of the run time), but the vibes, likable main characters, and imo it being the rare narrative game that manages to stick the landing elevates this to something I truly enjoyed.

Charming little action game. Kicking stuff into enemies never gets old and Adalia is a great protagonist.

One of the rare games whose writing captures the beauty and pain of existing. I also appreciate just how political the game becomes (in multiple meanings of that).
