vn are boring you know XD look my mediocre stuff but it's intentional so i'm immune to looks like a total moron with what i want to do all of that are a dEConStrUcTIoN hurr durr

unique for the best and worse but if it's you cup of tea be prepared for a crazy ride

some great stuff in the last hours and introduced well the characters and the setting but suffer from huge pacing issues

this shit is on a another plane of the existence compared to the others routes it's crazy

2002

Keep in mind one important thing : this is NOT a GTA-like. Yeah it's in open world, yeah you can somewhat steal car, but even then you need to learn how to stealth the car during the main mission. The game is way more punitive if you messed up.

The intention here is to immerge yourself in a story with 30s atmosphere. A lot of game design choice contribute to this intention.

But that's not excuse everything of course, this game prioritize way too much story over experience. And the aspect which suffer the most are the combat.

There is no real recoil in different weapons, it's a pain to aim something since the feedback is very mediocre. Even when you shoot a ennemie sometime they don't take any damage. And if you hide good luck to see anything since the camera don't help at all.

Yeah i know it's old and all but the first max payne was released 1 year ago and the gunfights are much better for example. I don't think this game really need gunfight at all to work.

Since the rest of the game work, okay the control in vehicles is heavy and slow, but i think it's way better for the experience to have heavy/slow control, it's really more playable like that than having a vehicle who run to fast and became way more difficult to control.

Like i said it contribute to the experience since it's a game who demand to take your time and be patient. Completly different take to action games in open world for sure but unique.

The atmosphere, storyline are also very good (the final is a good paid off), good pacing, good ost.

see kids that's what happens when you have good premise but have no idea about what to do with that

how to make a game aleardy nearly perfect even better ?

Platinum : hold my beer

not gonna lie, the game (and the whole serie) itself is honestly very mediocre but it's even worse if you already have played the precedents games which uchikoshi has worked as writer

start with a cute enjoyable first episode and and at the end of episode 4 it become ever 17 with superpowers and battle of wits

very good step up since doom 2, the lost level campaign is also a very good addition even if it's too short

Interesting hybrid between third person shooter/stealth with psycho power, you have a varied arsenal at you and you can easily take the approach you want... At least during present section... Although it's obviously better to not choose the action approach, the game encourage you to take your time and be creative with your powers. The aim however is fucking weird and it was itself a drag during my playthrough. You also have segments in flashback which unfortunatly choose to be way more action base and during these segments you quickly see how the action approach is tedious as fuck.

Too bad the plot take itself way too seriously depsite being very lame and being poor writting wise (the final twist make me laugh so hard)
