The first true next-gen Skylanders game at the time, S:SF launched the series into an all new direction. Adding in the ability to jump, continuing the series' masterful level design, adding in a LOT of much needed postgame content, and most importantly, the Swapping gimmick, a game-changing gimmick for Skylanders, the toys to life genre, and toys and gaming as a whole. Lorne Balfe returns on S:SF to help create even more charming tracks for levels, and the toy quality is superb.

S:G follows up on the success of S:SA, it retains a powerful score made by returning artist Lorne Balfe, and keeps the core fundamental gameplay, artstyle and graphics of the original. It sacrifices story length and the amount of new Skylanders introduced, and makes up for it with a superior postgame to its predecessor.
An absolutely underrated gem of a franchise. S:SA boasts a masterful soundtrack crafted by Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe, superb level design that can be tricky for kids and adults alike, a charming roster of unique playable characters and NPC's, simple yet effective gameplay, and of course the truly magical toys to life gimmick. Very glad I had the opportunity to grow up in my single digit years playing Skylanders. Fuck off, Skylanders haters, and keep your opinions to yourself unless you've played the actual game.
