I wish I could play this for the first time again. I guess watching other people play it for the first time is getting close enough, right?

I can't justify rating this as high as I did with Breath of the Wild. While I see this as the logical conclusion to and perfect concentration of what made the first game great, the sense of adventure and exploration that I had playing the first game just couldn't be recaptured. I 100%ed the first game, I spent less than 30 hours with this one. While I believe this game is certainly a masterpiece, I don't think it can ever live up to the sheer feeling of wonder that the first game ensnared me with.

A very faithful remake of a very great game. I don't think it quite surpasses the original because of just how much sentimental value the original has in my mind. That said, this is by far the definitive version of the game that you should absolutely play if you are looking to get into the Katamari Damacy series.
