This game gave me depression

One of the best expansions for any game
Brutally difficult but incredibly satisfying to gather collectibles and progress through the obstacle course-like stages

once you get past the sluggish opening chapters this quickly becomes one of the best stories in gaming history. incredible environments packed full of unique monsters and secrets, with engaging sidequests to boot. the only issues i have besides the sluggish opening are the abysmal tutorials and dodgy character designs

Revolutionized the open world genre the same way Ocarina of Time revolutionized 3D action adventure games

wtf happened here?

a new yoshi's island game designed like the snes classic sounds like a sure bet to be great, right? wrong, and this game is thankfully the last time nintendo has failed to repeat the success of the first game. the gameplay is fine, it's not as tight as the original but it's serviceable. what really kills this game is the presentation. the art style is a total mess. i think it's trying to be a mix of the new super mario bros art style and some vague claymation influences, but instead it just looks like the projectile vomit i spit out after i eat one of the shitty mcdonalds burgers that gives you food poisoning.

don't get me started on the music
