Consistently crashing so I can't continue the game. Will return to it when it's patched.

This has the same problem as every other game so far that there are 2 levels which are absolutely bullshit and sour the rest of the experience. It would be a better game if they cut those two levels.

The difficulty and quality of the last two levels soured my experience. I can hardly remember the game before those two levels. I had similar issues with the first Splinter Cell, but I gave up on that game. I was able to basically finish this one apart from the very very last scenario...

Anyway, if I try to remember really carefully I think most of the levels were quite good. I can't really remember much of the story apart from the terrorist version of a Che Guevara. Plot is silly, but whatever.

A goofy game with mostly excellent gameplay with one of the best kick buttons in gaming. The gameplay doesn't work as well with the non-human and gollum characters though. The story is unfortunate, but at least it doesn't really matter to the experience.

Playing via the ps3 remaster, and I have to stop for now. Getting stuck on missions and framerate issues are a little too frustrating. I'll play it again on the PC if I want to try again.

A really solid but janky experience.

2021

Feels a little like a shitpost, but it's fun.

I had a lot of trouble figuring out the prerequisites for a couple of the dungeons which got me a little frustrated, but most of the time the rhythm of the game was nice. Getting used to the camera was also a little tough, and I never really did get used to it.

I did enjoy the look of the game, and I think sometimes it does actually look good -- it's like it has a certain aesthetic that you don't see as much anymore.

I'll preface by saying I gave up on the last mission and watched the ending on youtube. I spent what felt like an hour trying and failing that bullshit platforming section. Besides that, I think the rest of the game is pretty solid despite some repetitive environments and missions.

The first thing that stood out to me was the world of the game. I definintely recommend reading the manual first for gameplay and story setup. You play as a member of the mercenary group: Raven. They take on any mission for money, and, in a limited sense, you get to choose how the story goes in which missions you choose to take. If you're trying to be a good guy, it can be hard to choose as no mattter which mission you choose, there's generally someone nefarious who would benefit. You get the first taste of this where your first choice is either killing squatters or killing striking workers.

The gameplay itself is a bit awkward to get used to. There is no analog stick support so moving is handled by the d-pad and the shoulder buttons. I'll be honest that I never really got used to the controls fully through my time playing the game. That being said, you can pull of some sick moves, and I was suprised at points with how it felt to move and fight.

Yeah, pretty good game. I'm interested to see how the future games change the formula.

I think I'm losing interest in the story and formula of the Yakuza games so it was good that this was the last of Kiryu's saga.

Game controls are too annoying to use

Not like how i remember it on the 360. It's fine, but not worth me finishing a replay.

2005

Geist was a childhood favorite - mostly for the multiplayer. Just the fact you can possess a chef and throw plates as a weapon put it's above other games. Otherwise, in terms of the campaign, it's an alright game. Geist's campaign is cheesy with lots of missed gameplay potential, but still it's decent.

Very much like the first Hylics with improvements and some changes. The biggest change being the switch to a more 3d style with increased production. The art style stays with the switch though - which is good if you like Hylics - Hylics being the sort of game you play for the style and atmosphere over anything else. It's just fun to explore the world and characters. If it's your first time playing, explore as much as you can and take heed to what some characters say - it may help you, especially with poolmen.

I'm not really feeling the game. The sorta repetitive gameplay loop wasn't doing it for me. I like the themes of the game, but I just don't have the energy to finish it. I got a little over half-way through.
