Stunning game the entire way through. Spending the first 40% of the game or so as the party members rather than the hero sets up the journey very well in a way you almost never see in jrpgs. The party members are specialized versions of 3’s class system, another thing I really enjoyed. And then you add in the party chat characterizing our team for the first time (I played using the party chat mod). Instant recipe for success. This game does a lot right and nothing wrong in my eyes. May this gem be remembered forever

Also Maya best character

Very impressive party building for its time and even now holds up very well, as do most things about this title save for story. They even cut down on the cryptic bullshit that DQ2 had going on left and right. Would highly recommend this to any jrpg fan that wants to visit the basics.

Solid beat em up. If you’re a big Gundam head that’s seen everything or don’t mind lots of spoilers, I’d recommend this game. Only complaints I have are minor, like wanting more characters and suits represented. This got me interested in the SD series and I’m excited to start exploring it.

If you wanna play minecraft with a guided story and npcs, this is the game. The dragon quest atmosphere really sold me and the connections to DQ1 were cool to see. What I was most surprised by was how competent the writing was for the more relevant characters and the way characters' responses give you a glimpse of the protagonist's character in turn.

Like the open world when it isn't island 2, don't like combat or most of the mini bosses. The character stories were ok, story was ok, not a fan of the cutscenes or Roger's acting in this one. Levels were a mixed bag but there more I disliked than I liked. Lastly, most of the bosses sucked and the final boss was awful (yes I did true end).

What I came out of this game liking was the music and Sage. Score would be lower if not for some of the things I did like from the gameplay. It's a step up from Forces but if this is where this series is headed let it stay dead.

Overall my least favorite of the 3 games but still a very good time

Pros:
- Viola's a fun addition as a person and as a playable character
- upgradeable weapon trees don't add much new but both hone in on unique moves for weapons and teach you that they exist at all, something the first two games could've benefitted from
- the entire ending
- difficulty being higher than 2
- the weapons are by far my favorite in the series. Very versatile and unique purposes to complement numerous playstyles and speeds
- a story that while mediocre, breaks away from beating the same story concepts as 1 and 2

Cons:
- environments are massive but somewhat boring and bleak in color
- style and personality felt very lacking, and where it is implemented it feels like a lukewarm attempt
- still not a fan of some of the minigame segments
- again on story, the other realities don't add much besides flashy events
- the villain's reasoning and goals are entirely unexplained past "he can and he wants to so he will"
- not much exposition of characters both old and new, making what quirky dialogue you do get feel somewhat soulless

Tl;dr: the most flawed title imo but all around I had a great time and would recommend it

Not a fan of the new maps feeling overly designed for competitive play and lacking interesting areas or perches to explore. Story mode was very cool and bringing back Octo Expansion's campaign style felt great. Overall a good addition to the series and I look forward to future updates on weapons and maps.

One of the best games ever. Easy.

If you like V3's Development Plan postgame mode, this is your game. Despite being a clearly nonsensical plot, I did enjoy the final moments and the ending content. Building up my favorite characters is always satisfying, like having Hajime tank while Izuru sweeps.

Very charming with a easy to grasp and fun to master gameplay loop. Different elements complement different playstyles and lots of offensive and defensive varieties allow you to build for the element you want while guarding the element you struggle with. Story's very short but Noah's a character archetype I enjoy and didn't expect to see here. I love games that are designed around being rewarded for playing with the different systems and gameplay gimmicks, and this game does that pretty well. If you're looking for a cheap fun roguelite, this is it.

i had a great time playing these games for the first time. shame on you for abandoning this series bamco. revive our boy or i'm changing every machine noise in bamco hq to stepping wind

i liked this one more than the first. new camera angles and level scale/length were very enjoyable and new mechanics help flesh out gameplay. boarding can bite me.

this is my favorite of the 4 gundam musou titles. while i miss the larger maps from 1 and 2, i enjoy playing on a battlefield with different bases that offer different functions and respawning allies so you're not left completely alone to decimate a whole army. the cast expansion is fantastic, my favorite additions being more wing pilots, stardust memory, and the unicorn characters as unicorn is my favorite gundam series. this game has a notable ost which isn't something i can say for the other 3 titles. the partner system is neat and i EXTREMELY appreciate the reworking of the friendship system so half the cast doesn't hate me just for having spawned in as an enemy

fun time. simple, charming, and at times fairly challenging. the story elements were something i didn't mind and wow at that ending

definitely my favorite way to experience these games, as i'm not great at them. i've finished sonic cd before and sonic 3 up to the final boss, so it felt good to be able to finish all 4 games with a number of options for who to play to compensate for player skill and anniversary mode so i can try as much as i want
