This game is the pinnacle of production values for a 2D JRPG. Incredible visuals and voice acting. One of the best JRPG soundtracks of all time. Gameplay is overall fine, with a decent story and a big improvement from Octopath 1. Gameplay became tedious eventually.

DNF. Found the English translation awkward and frustrating, an issue I didn't experience with Ryza 1 and Ryza 2. May revisit in Japanese in the future.

This game is worth giving a shot if you enjoy the genre. I liked a lot of it, but didn't love it enough to continue through multiple playthroughs. I also strongly preferred the first half of each playthrough to the second half, found it hard to get over my dislike of a couple of the characters.

A spectacular game that I honestly wish was longer after 50 hours. It is an incredible achievement that the game floats between an 8.5 and 9.5/10 in quality for the entire runtime. Incredible voice acting, writing, world building, and combat system. Wish there could've been more time for Jill, Joshua and the other characters but it was already a pretty long game I suppose.

Incredible story, one of my favorite protagonists of all time in Deathpolca.

The game is a reasonably enjoyable RPG maker game, but the 18+ content definitely detracts from the experience at times. Fetishizing the violence and cruelty is a little bit of a tonal mismatch.

Finished Part 2, still have to do the final dungeon + ending, but this game is truly a spectacular story. Even just up to this point, it's one of my favorite game stories.

Enjoyed it. Story forgettable, some likable characters and moments. Gameplay a huge step up from Three Houses, I played on Hard Casual.

Really liked this one, lots of flaws but felt like an earnest effort to improve on a formula without abandoning what people enjoy.

There's a lot to love about this game, really enjoyed the character dynamics and the side quests. Has some incredible high points (chapter 5/6, ashera hero/ascension quest) and some incredible low points (final boss battle, 90% of mobius interactions). Gameplay tedious for me personally but I had a nice time breezing through on easy.

Uchikoshi game, if you love them, you'll probably enjoy this. I thought it was excellent, parts of the finale didn't work for me and I felt like the big twist was clearly designed to prey upon his fans which was fun but also frustrating as it was difficult to piece together and confusing when revealed. Some of his best character work, I really became attached to the new characters and they all got their time to shine for the most part.

Switch performance very bad, crashed twice and lagged frequently.

Since I beat the game within 48 hours of release, I'm obviously biased towards these types of games.

This game's biggest issue is simply that it is following Yakuza 0.

I really enjoyed the first act, but the later acts became tedious.
