This here would be most CRPG game to ever exist.
the combat barely functions and the random encounters you get are the pretty much the same low level hordes you get up until the very end. technical issues left and right and nearly unplayable without a fan patch nowadays.
it also has the most Immersive world I've ever experienced even the most random fetch quests turn out to be way more than what you were expecting in the first place, and every single one of the quests are designed to be handled in a multitude of ways, each with their own outcomes. and all of it feels natural because you're using the core mechanics of the game to come up with solutions. this had me intentionally looking quests and talking to every single NPC. and there is so much Quests, secrets and conspiracies lurking around it's actually unbelievable. some book in a museum may take you through a journey around the world to meet god itself or uncovering the truth about a religion from bloodstain. the game never holds your hand or any of it so figuring them out is genuinely satisfying.
While the combat may not be even functional it makes up for it with the RPG mechanics and the overall gameplay is fantastic. no matter which side you pick up and focus on. you're building your character for the coolest shit. just a matter whether you prefer to revive people with magic and summon phantoms and golems to fight by your side and identify magical artifacts diablo style, or craft and drink stat increasing medicine and have an army of spider robots follow you while you wear the steampunk equivalent of a power armor. and crafting is actually fun in this game. or go for a broken but difficult hybrid alternative.
the writing is clean and concise. talking to a random historian about some old religion for 20 minutes was enjoyable. it may not seem like it but this game is also one of the most consistently funny games out there. I've yet to see an rpg convey its plot and world so well through side quests and gameplay.
absolutely trumped over Fallout 1 and 2 in every way for me, wish it had a stronger ending but that still doesn't take away for everything that it does so well.
Did i mention that at least 4 of the game's cities can be completely killed through quests (one you even get awarded for lol) and how people of the other sex offer to have sex with you if your beauty is high enough? HELL there even is a huge org-

went in expecting another mediocre disappointment only to be blow away by how deep and engaging it is down there. even for someone who mainly prefers to play games by myself, they COOP was incredibly fun and intense and the fact that that most of the mechanics push for team helps the experience alot. aside from a few hiccups in the sunken mossvalley, this might be the best designed coop game out there even better than gunstar heroes.

Somehow FromSoft increased the vibes and aesthetic threefold from the first Evergrace (although they also made it a decent bit different so you might not personally agree with that) and improved almost every aspect of the gameplay and were way more ambitious and innovated a dozen gameplay systems and made this game a double prequel and did all this shit while also having a far more cohesive and comprehendible plot and story than the first game, probably because it was written by Mie Takase, the person who also wrote the Evergrace prequel novel, which this game itself is a prequel to. She's a published author who also worked (or still works?) on the Kirby novels. Yes, that Kirby.

This doesn't count as a review I think but I dunno what to say because I'm dumb and stupid. Basically this game is good, fuck the haters, plus the ost bangs so fucking hard dude how does it bang so hard PLEASE

It's also a dumb game sometimes. Actually a lot of times. Your party having a shared health pool and some attacks doing more than half of your HP upon hitting one character leads to points in the game where you just die instantly, which isn't fun, but I'm a cheater and used a lot of save states, so I don't care. This game would probably be a lot more infuriating if you decided to play by its rules, but I didn't and feel no remorse for not doing so.

Good game/10. The soul levels are off the charts, even compared to the first Evergrace.

also play the game in japanese byeeee

psychotic bishounen, HIGH&LOW in a world of horror

-The most natural evolution of action-horror ever developed. Its spaces respond to that attempt at polygonal evolution of flat and reflective corridors to give a cleaner and more sterile sensation, not as charismatic or dirty as in the first Galerians, more aware of its diegetic and Futurist possibilities and limitations, Y2k after all, empty space, reflections and liquids become something mystical again. FULL 3D, a sense of grandeur with cameras and cutscenes - limited, but visually seductive - replace controlled motion planning in the psOne's pre-rendered backgrounds, and its kinesthetic orthotics also move toward agile gameplay.
Nothing very naturalistic, however: the corridors and rooms do respond to a certain habitability logic, but the menus get in the way of the action, the protagonist's portraits appear as reflections on the screen when we pick up an object (looking at us) and the characters act differently. robotics. I think of these things when someone says "ps2 desing" I think of the start of the BIOS immersing myself in a virtual world. I think of a universe built without pretensions to hide in what medium it is based, embracing the digital in its presentation, out of necessity or conviction.
-The game is full of brutally interesting images, (this is only from its first hours https://twitter.com/Ardwyw/status/1575538820933906432) something in the middle between Event Horizon, BLAME!, Matrix, Cronenberg (that body horror ), something from the old Squaresoft and a J-Pop concert... Although this is seen more from the cinematographic (Cutscenes) than from the cinematic (in-game camera and scenery) and it's a shame because if sections like the final boss were more abundant the canned structure in labyrinths whose transit is not so interesting from a spatial point of view, it's not that I don't appreciate slow gaming but those corridors... I don't know.
- The action is only interesting with the bosses or sub-bosses, the rest were exercises to control resources and my nervousness, something that I already have very internalized. I also don't ask for the incredible exploration of objects and their effects on my avatar and enemies that BAROQUE had but, meh

I really appreciate this Galerians: Ash, but through sight, not so much when I play it
Although I will definitely return.

it was ok. had some waifus. good music. i remember nothing else about it.

this game is so fun. its so dumb too. great dub. kow otani from shadow of the colossus contributed to the OST too.

no fighting game dlc has ever gone as hard as this one and no fighting game dlc released after ever will go as hard. he will simply destroy them all

i dunno. seems like i should like this game a lot more than the original, considering how much more fleshed out it is... but the result feels messier and less balanced to me. the first one had a simplicity and focus that made it very compelling - just a quintessential crystallization of the roguelike applied to a dragon quest spinoff, with all the challenge and charm one might expect. they really got it right the first time. will return to this another time, but for now... i'm gonna move on.

what the street fighter community is experiencing with ken right now is akin to what i guess the tekken community experienced with paul 21 years ago (he is unemployed)

I love love this game!! 😮 The guy who inspired them to make Disco Elysium. 😉 The combat is 🤢 but the story is 👍. But Disco Elysium made a good update on the mechanic!!! 🧑‍🔧 No combat, only story... 📖 It's got like a very very long ass 🍑 story... it's like reading a thousand page book!! 😮 Very entertaining nonetheless. 🤷‍♂️ Good job on them. 👍 Bravo!! 👏
