Best I've played in 2023

Rules:
1. Only one game per month
2. Only first runs are permitted, except for re-releases that deliver major improvements
3. Up to one honorable mention per month

January was quite boring without any special games.

Honourable Mention: Metro Exodus (with its expansions)
February unexpectedly brought me one of my favourite games, Wasteland 3. Highly recommended!

Honourable Mention: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy
I played SMT for the first time in March. It was a lot of fun, but I think SMTIV is much better.

Honourable Mention: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
Unfortunately, April only had one good game, but it was a fantastic one. SMTIV has catapulted itself straight into my heart.

Honourable Mention: none
May was generally quite mediocre. I'm not really a big fan of VNs (a loooooot of text and little interactivity), but 999 was really enjoyable with its Escape Rooms and complex Plot.

Honourable Mention: Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
June didn't have any games worth mentioning either. I'll go with Fantasy Life here, as it at least entertained me a little.

Honourable Mention: none
I gave GreedFall a second chance in July. It really deserved it, because I liked it much more than I had expected. I hope GreedFall II will be even better. Topics like colonialism in particular should be dealt with in much more depth.

Honourable Mention: Dusk
Do I need to say anything? I really played a lot of mediocre games in the damn hot month of August, but I also played the GAA duology. Really fantastic and also recommended for people who have never played AA before. A few cases are so-so, but in the end I sat spellbound at my PC for a really long time reading.

Honourable Mention: The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures
September was pretty decent with good games and some more mediocre games.
Gunpoint really was a great experience and also a great suprise as I didn't expect anything so good.

Honourable Mention: A Hand With Many Fingers
I was finally able to play MGS in November. Yes, I know there are emulations, but I only do that when there really is no other option. A fantastic game that I really enjoyed and played through in just two days.

Honorable Mention: Pokémon Sinking Sapphire
What's better than MGS? MGS2. Fantastic game (getting used to the new gameplay mechanics was kinda frustrating at first thb) and also a great month with a lot of good games for me.

Honourable Mention: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - HD Edition
Here we are at the end of 2023. Fallout 2 is a banger and a great way to end the year.

Honourable mention: Fire Emblem: Awakening
