The only reason this doesn't get top marks is sometimes the new content is a little buggy or undercooked. But if you want a true Classic+, look no further.
As someone who grew up in the days of Mario Is Missing cluttering video rental stores, tricking children into spending money on geography lessons, I deeply appreciate this hack realizing the game we all actually wanted. Fun hack with lots of great levels.
Frankly, it's just as good as the SNES original. Any downgrades in screen resolution and visual fidelity is made up for by the extra content and portability. Turn of the century Rare was just built different.
It's SOR2, but it looks worse, it sounds worse, and it plays a lot worse. An obvious downgrade from the Genesis original, it's also a downgrade from SOR1's 8-bit conversion. Don't even play it for the novelty.
This game is gorgeous, with huge sprites, detailed backgrounds, and anime inspired cutscenes. Gameplay is standard early 90s beat em up fair, but sadly, only one player. Two player would add a lot to this one, but for what it is, it's fun.
As a 1992 brawler (backloggd says it's from 1993, but it's wrong), it is short and a little simple. But as a port of an already-classic arcade game, it is incredibly faithful, while improving the game in almost every respect. Frankly, play this over the Arcade version. It's good!
ArcSys developed this port, which is the only interesting thing about it, because it fucking sucks. Kicking sucks, jumping sucks, enemies move on top of you leading to ugly, clashing graphics with poor hit detection. Don't play this version. It's bad!
