you cant describe this game with words, which the game doesnt even use. i always thought of yume nikki as sort of an art piece, you can interpret it however you want. it can have a story, it can as well be meaningless and nice pictures. also i dont think theres any more atmospheric game than this one, even though its a pixelated rpgmaker game. simply amazing.
played it since i was five years of age, still coming back to it pretty frequently. the depth of the gameplay is amazing and it just doesnt get boring. and theres so many scenarios and campaigns too, i havent completed them all (edit: after 13 years i in fact have completed them all). i guess it can be rough at start but once you get into it you will realise why every respectable polish or russian household owns this game.

honestly the most interesting part are monikas monolgues at the end, its just interesting to read these thoughts. also i wish more people would realise its message, how thjs game is a critique of the whole waifu culture, that you wont find happinness if you base your standards on some unrealistic woman designed to be lovable. yuri best girl though. crazy bitch!!
i understand why people don't like spending hours moving troops around but for me the huge maps make the game feel more like a big adventure of Conquest and Exploration. other FE games feel more like im doing a bunch of puzzles in a sequence, connected by a story. from what i know, FE4 is also one of the easier games, probably thanks to saving after each turn (resetting a whole stage will always feel more laborious than moving troops ever will, to me) and item management isnt as much pain in the ass. so its a perfect fit for someone like me. but as i said, i can understand why its controversial. respect.
