I beat the main game. I was someone who was incredibly excited for this game. The visuals spoke to me, the atmosphere was beautiful and the music was mwah. I picked it up day one and played for hours. My first play session was the best. But as I kept playing I noticed how punishing the game can be with back tracking and getting stuck. The exploration is really fun but at moments it can really feel frustrating. The wonder of the game really started to ware off of the grating design. It kept taking me out of the game whenever I would keep having to redo super hard sections that also have rly annoying checkpoints. Its a really good game, but I think these certain parts of it stops it for being as good as it really is for me. THanks!@!

PLEASE HELP ADVICE NEEDED
This is genuinely so ridiculous to me. I have always loved the concept of an MMO. I have tried so many hoping to get into it. I grind a couple tens of hours and then stop. I thought this would be it dude. I put 140 hours just trying to beat A Realm Reborn. I tried on a first character and got near the end of the story. Stopped because shit just got so boring and grindy. Started again this year with hype for focusing on the story and taking my time. I finally got the first credits roll. After hours of majority side quests that are just fetch quests. I cannot stand how much filler there is. Its worse than a freaking shonen anime except you cant just put it on in the background. The amount of a time waster this is is insane to me. I was hoping to plow through the story to get to heavansward onward which ive heard is awesome. BUT I STILL HAVE 30% more quests to go after rolling the freaking credits!!! PLEASE TELL ME ITS WORTH IT. SOMEONE TELL ME IF THE STORY IS GONNA GET GOOD ENOUGH TO THE POINT WHERE I SHOULD KEEP PLAYING IT. I THOUGHT THE STORY SO FAR WAS FINE AND SOMETIMES FUN BUT THAT SHIT WAS SO MID OVERALL!!! PLEASEEEE HELP ME!
I loved the character customization and the dungeons are fun and im so hyped to do reaper and dark knight but thats not for another hundred hours +. Should I stop while I can?

I love it but also rly couldnt continue. Baba is my inner child solving puzzles. I just dont know why i cant connect with the actual puzzle designs. after like 5 levels shit gets so unnaturally hard to me. its hard to actually understand everything at once. it feels more like a weird math equation. If you like puzzles then play it. its just hard. i kepy getting stumpt. help me baba. i need help. plea

Replayed fully for the first time since beating it back in the day. I came back to relive the nostalgia and do the ringed city which I never did. Unfortunately by the time I got to the Ringed City I felt like the design of the game really started draining me. Ringed City seems like the pinnacle of the 2nd half of DS3's game design. It highlights everything wrong with DS3 lmfao. Dont know if ima finish it but base DS3 is really great.

Had so much potential. I love this game but also really dislike it at the same time. Overall though solid castlevania.

I've been putting this off ever since playing remake intergrade to death. I was ready to stop after that but now that Rebirth is here I wanted to finish what I started for the new release.

Spoiler:
I really like Yuffie as a character so I was excited to see how they adapted her. Luckily they did a good job making her likable and silly while not dumbing her down too much as a 'clumsy' character.

Unfortunately outside of that there is nothing I adored about this short story. As an extended game it does almost nothing different other than add a new character with her own move set and adds a few new bosses. It's honestly surprising how much of the same environments and assets seen in remake you go through again in Intermission counting that there was a two year dev time in between remake and remake intergrade.

Intermission highlights the worst things about remake to me. The boring level designs, repetitive fights, predictable story beats, and uninteresting side quests. The entire story felt like a filler episode of Naruto; especially chapter one.

Last thing that bothered me was sonon. His character was uninteresting and underdeveloped. They bet the entire climax of the dlc on his "death"(probably still alive and Nero is gonna use his body as a boss or something) only to give him zero character other than the fact that his sister died. Hes the embodiment of a character that is only developed to progress/artificially create an emotional plot line. I just didn't really care at all for him.

The highlight of Intermission for me was the new bosses. Getting to fight Nero and Weiss was a really cool experience. Nero had a great design that was giving me devilmaycry x kingdom hearts. It was nice to see something new in what felt like filler after filler. Even the fight with the blonde woman was really cool too!

It wasn't bad but it just isn't what I'm looking for. The writing in remake is really hit or miss for me. This dlc was definitely the writing that misses lmao. I want more from characters like Sonon. I'm hoping Rebirth has a lot more depth. The FF7 universe has so much to it and I think Rebirth and the third game can really prove what remake has set up. mwah <3

3 stars for 3 evil residents!!!!!

If you like Earthbound, Animal Crossing, or Hylics: PLAY THIS!

This game is beautiful. The execution of the world and characters is amazing as well as deep without being dense for the short experience. The idea of the foam being save files and how there are small differences in blessings/abilities in each one is so cool. It takes this deep multiverse idea into a palletable wholesome cute universe.
The art and design of the world and characters feel so full of life and passion. Everything feels like it's real within this little world of the foam. The main characters are all really cute and memorable. The progression is also so fun and refreshing.

It's just a joy of a game. Give this a shot if you want something chill and fun in your free time.

When I saw Picayune Dreams I instantly fell in love with the artstyle and music. I love breakcore/drum&bass etc. so I bought the game immediately and went in with as little knowledge as possible.
When I booted up the game and found out this was a roguelike I was really bummed.

I've never enjoyed Roguelites. I feel so unsafe and weird with constantly restarting the game. It's never been for me. I've always quit after some progress. But I gave it a shot anyways and I'm really pleased with what it turned out to be.
It's a short game (took me 7H) and the experience is tight and fun. Theres something so satisfying about vampire survivor upgrades mixed with semi touhou bullethell gameplay. I am really happy that the game was designed to be a small experience with big potential for players who play hundreds of runs. For me I was able to experience the roguelike gameplay loop at a small playtime I would expect for an indie. But considering the upgrades and the different builds you can make I know there is enough here for deeper players to enjoy. Only issue is that I can see the content running dry fairly quickly. There aren't many bosses to push people to keep going once you're done.

The story is honestly my biggest issue with the game. It felt somewhat inventive by mixing the story along with the rogulike gameplay but I just could not get myself to enjoy it. It felt very flat and unnecessary. But at the same time I wouldn't change it. It's the creators vision and I mess with what their doing and thinking. Just wasn't for me in that part.
The presentation is where it really shines. The art is so good. I also love the touch of the various equipment showing visually on the MC. The enemies became repetitive after 3 tried but the bosses were really cool and had a lot of charm.

And the last note I have is that the music is incredible. It's so nice having my favorite music genre in a new indie game. If you like electronic music and breakcore you will love this game. It's worth it for that alone.
I suck at writing reviews sorry MWAH <3

Came for Orbo and stayed for Peeb...

In all seriousness this was such a charming time. It was everything a short and sweet experimental platformer should be. I love playing shorter games like this.
Reminded me a lot of Toree(Please check it out if you liked this). You can beat the game and have fun for about an hour or two and spend an extra 30-60 minutes collecting all the achievements and collectibles.

These are my type safe games other than psychological horror. <3

Solid game but simply not for me. I love the RPG mechanics but felt really uninterested into the story and characters. The art is amazing but not my cup of tea. Feels like I've seen this games art style in so many other games and it feels weirdly boring to me even though its objectively beautiful.

The main thing that made me know that I wouldn't be interested was the pacing and somewhat uninteresting writing style. From what I see, this is a great game with an insane amount of talent and skill poured in but not for me. If you love rpgs (mario rpg esque style combat) and the character designs you will love this.

Really fun game. Has a great gameplay loop of exploring and finding new ways to get more powerful and progress. It excels at the rpg dungeon crawling aspect. The environments are gorgeous and there are so many that really pulled me in. The music is amazing and overall this games strongest point for me is the atmosphere. I’ve been looking for a game outside of survival horror games that can capture serious atmosphere. This game does that but in its own way. And sometimes it’s genuinely creepy.

I don’t have much to complain about. All the stuff that annoyed me is mainly the traversal. Having entire maps in between the main ones with crystals is really frustrating. It can be hard to go back to explore more when it feels like the second you step away from a warp stone you can get lost at any moment. This game doesn’t have a map and that’s the other main problem. Almost every place I went I had such a good time until I realized I was stuck running in circles or missing some random corner or something. Would be nice to know where I’ve gone and have a visual for where I am at least. The game has banners to leave behind as you explore like bread crumbs. But that doesn’t do shit. It literally just makes you confused on an extra level when you end up looping no matter what. All these things were annoying but they weren’t enough to stop me from playing the rest of the game.

Btw the game is in early access. There’s still so much content to explore but just know that you’ll reach the end of what there is to do and you’ll just kinda have to realize that there’s no real ending. It’s more like you have to experience everything there is so far. Hopefully the game gets even bigger.

The game is just vibes. Like literally buy it and just walk around… kill some enemies (except for the snails and rabbits) find some secret walls and weapons. If that sounds like your type of thing you’ll love it.

The game was fun. There's no denying it. The character performance and memorability was amazing and right up there with MGS 1-4. The boss fights were the best part of the game! It felt really empowering just parrying the sht out of the bosses and transitioning into the blade mode sections. Very cinematic gameplay that was easy to grasp but hard to master.

My main gripe with the game was the level design and story. First off the level design was completely fine until you get a few chapters in. It starts to feel draining having to fight the same enemies between every genuinely exciting section. I found myself wanting to run past a lot by chapter 5. Even with the decent enemy variety it still couldn't mask the repetitive loop of doing combos until you can zanatsu them.

IDK im not rly a pro at analyzing gameplay so lets move on to the story. I absolutely love Raiden. He's my fav character in MGS. MGS 1,2, and 4 are my sh
t. I've seen people saying that this game ruins Raidens character. I don't completely agree with that. My favorite part of Raidens character is how unfair his life has been. His childhood was horrific. He was left as an experiment up until the end of MGS2. He has been in a daze his whole life. That's until he was finally free of the murderous life he was forced into by the end of MGS2. He began his path of free will and was able to ask himself, 'who am i.' It was a defining theme for his character progression. We don't know what happens in between 2 and 4. But we know that in 4 he went through becoming a cyborg and had distance with his wife. He was at rockbottom once again. Who knows exactly what happened but in 4 he found purpose in protecting the man who gave him the will to find his own. He felt alone and scared. He didn't know what to do except fight. He must've thought I might as well fight for the ones I know and love. Idk im going a bit whacky with my descriptions but basically this game does not compliment his character IMO.

He is bullied into doubting his resolve and purpose of protecting the weak - fair enough; I'd be breaking down too yknow? But therefore he awakens to Jack the Ripper. He embraces it even. For the rest of the game this HUGE theme never gets resolved. Raiden had to cope with his trauma for his whole life and only started seeing success when he was with the people that cared and understood him ie. SNAKE, SUNNY, ROSE, ETC. This thematic moment of his embracing the ripper basically undoes all of that in an instant. The game had the chance to focus on that character plot. Instead, the game kept wanting to introduce so many other ideas that everything, (not only including raidens character), got mixed up to the point of no return. It was trying to do so much but I feel like I came out of it feeling confused.

That's not a familiar feeling for me when it comes to MGS. In all the games I've played I came out of it feeling inquisitive. I had so many questions but not because I couldn't answer it with the information the game gave me. I was taking in the story, the ideas, the themes, and the point itself. This game is different though. I came out confused. I was wondering why they didn't do so many things that I feel like they could've done story wise. It's a shame but It's also not all bad.

The characters overall were very memorable and enjoyable to watch. They all had amazing VA as always in MGS. The dialogue was detailed and felt fulfilling in most conversations. The designs were amazing and I love the new things that they introduced into this game.

Theres alot to love and theres a lot to question. Its good and great and bad and weird and stupid.

Try it out for yourself ;)

It's really going to depend on your interest if you'll like it. Was expecting tropes and they were definitely there but it's not as bad as most visual novels. I got pretty bored after Shiki reaches the mansion. I'm still really interested in Tsukihime but I think I'm gonna wait for the remake since its officially coming out next year. The remake also gets rid of a lot of the unnecessary hentai and etc. Might be better for people who hate that type of thing.
