The death of a franchise. What a shame.

SquareSoft had a crazy run of successful RPGs in the 90s, but in 2001 they decided to dip their toes into beat 'em ups with The Bouncer. It's weird, wacky, but most importantly its very fun and very replayable. It's not the best beat 'em up ever, not even close, but it's light-RPG mechanics and differences in the story between characters make it worth your time.

They took everything that was fun about the original game and took a shit on it. No more individual game genres, no more arcade system, no more movie tie ins, nothing. This game has an original story, with voice acting and FMVs, which I don't dislike it's just kinda weird when compared to the first game. I found the frame rate issues distracting, the driving sections infuriating and the lack of checkpoints made me drop this game. It's like Fox Interactive was hiding under a rock the entire time between the first game's release and this one.

This game is incredible outside of the forced wolf sections and the sometimes janky camera. This is peak Zelda design, in it's world and dungeons. Do yourself a favor and play this game.

The Playstation version is more like an enhanced version of the N64 game, rather than a straight port.
Theres more levels, more tanks and a new soundtrack. I love how it takes advantage of the dualshock controller, but performance issues hold this one back unfortunately. Regardless of which version you choose, you'll have a great experience with either.

A solid, yet boring side scrolling beat em up. It doesn't particularly excel at anything, it's lacking on features and feels more like a promotional item for the film as opposed to something more. I like the way they've brought John William's excellent soundtrack to mobile devices, but ehhh that's about all it's got going for it. Would not recommend.

A short, exciting romp through the desert that had me grinning from ear to ear my entire playthrough. 100% worth it if you can find it cheap.

I had fun with the game early on, but as the bugs and crashes piled up, my frustrations did too. The game becomes a slog by the end, Friday is the worst day by far. Maybe it'll be a 3/5 if they fix the bugs, but I doubt it. They seem more intent on making weed jokes than releasing a competent product these days.

Man... that overall rating is brutal, I find this game VERY enjoyable. Popping a zombie in the head with a well-placed headshot feels great, the PVE is 5/5 in my book. My only real issue with the game is how it handles PVP, once you die you come back as a zombie. Now that's not always an issue, but you feel VERY weak and slow the entire time. If you're the first one out? Well... it's gonna be a long round. I think it's still a blast with friends and I highly recommend it if you can get your hands on it.

Fun alternative to Postal, I enjoyed the destruction. Once you start fighting the military however it goes to shit, way too hard.

Man... so disappointing. I truly enjoy the character of Miles Morales but I just couldn't get into this game's story. Krieger & Tinkerer just weren't interesting villains at all, they didn't keep me engaged like Doc Ock did in the first game. Other than the story though, its pretty solid. More of the same from the first game really, beating up goons and slinging around the city. I hate to say it, but this game felt like more of a DLC than a fully fleshed out game. I hope with Spiderman 2 we get a proper sequel, because I can't wait to see how Peter & Miles work together as partners.

It's fun to name my settlers after my friends and share their demises with them, that's about it really. Very repetitive.

An improvement in every possible way over the first game, best in the trilogy in my book.

I love this game. I keep coming back to it and noticing new things. The game gaslights you HARD and makes you question your own morality. Some might say the gameplay isn't that great, and yeah sure I suppose, but the narrative and the way the game breaks the fourth wall more than makes up for it. Incredible game.
