Yeah, this one's real good. Takes the first game and improves upon it by a ton.

Also it's insanely polished. The gameplay mechanics are basically asking for bugs yet I don't think I encountered any.

Probably the entry with the highest production quality, and it shows.
The combat and music can be kinda hit or miss compared to the other games, but everything else, especially the narrative and voice acting, is top-tier.

Gaming is back baby. A great cast of characters with a much more character focused plot.

Also more banger karaoke

RGG Studio was very ambitious with this game which could've been something genuinely amazing.
Though it has a bunch of strong parts, the overall execution unfortunately fails.

I still prefer failed ambition over bland caution

That's how mafia works 4.

Big step up in storytelling except for some moments where you pause and ask the game "why?".

Also it's here where the series started striking karaoke gold but other minigames have yet to catch up.

Held back by the technology at the time, slightly stale combat and an oddly paced plot but still holds the series core strenghts with great characters, fun action and -as always- minigames

I wish there was more background music

The engine change feels nice but fix the ragdoll holy hell.

Plot was a bit all over the place but I can't believe 30 minutes of bonus content at the end upped my score by a whole point.

That's how mafia works.

Around the board it keeps 0's strenghts in gameplay but dips in story consistency and delivery.

What it does excel at is anything and everything with Majima in it.

Had some points where it dipped a bit into tedium but it has the same strenghts of the base game while presenting you with something fresh.

Retroactively makes the base game better, literally peak DLC goals.

The presentation, in all its facets, is impeccable.

Simple gameplay that relies entirely on the player learning new things.

The message really, really manages to resonate with you.

Don't google anything, just play it.

Great cathartic ending and top off for the base game

My heart

Playing on pain mode was torture.

Oscillates between an absurdist RPG parody and a heartbreaking (and fucked up) post-apocalypse story of a man clinging onto his humanity

This is what it feels like to play those wild dreams you sometimes have.

Super solid game, it's like an attempt to see how well it can impress you in its ~1h game time (it's very good at it)

Super short game made on RPG Maker. Interested in how the following games built upon this with larger narratives.

The game bugged out on me with 3 minutes of content remaining, had to watch the rest on Youtube lol

Really fun combat that allows you to experiment and go bonkers while being easy to execute moves, so the usual DMC experience.

Story was very shallow and abruptly short, super style over substance but the style goes hard
