Overwatch 2’s PVE has been completely and utterly cancelled.

Blizzard killed the golden goose for good. The PvE initially promised as a sprawling experience got downgraded into small season excerpts, and now? Nothing.

One of the most promising, innovative and polished games of all time has been systematically butchered by executive incompetence. Overwatch 2’s whole existence was principled on this PvE. Now what is it built on?
A shop overhaul. No more free cosmetics every level. Pay for cosmetics. Pay for the Battle Pass. Spend. Spend. Spend.

Bleak stuff. I’ll always treasure the great memories I have of early Overwatch (heroes never die, after all), but I honestly doubt I’ll ever touch it again.

i KNEW THERE HAD TO BE SOMETHING THAT WASNT FAMILY GUY OR SOUTH PARK OR FUTURAMA OR SIMPSONS THAT HAD A VIDEO GAME MADE, I KNEW IT! I KNEW FLAGSHIP ADULT CARTOONS HAD TO HAVE SOMETHING ELSE GOING ON.....
this Sure Is.. Something Though! Definitely not worth setting up in my opinion LMFAO
technically you got two games as options, you got a hunting trip point and click and you got the hootenanny (block party) point and click

these have neat interactions and nobody is necessarily jarring unless maybe the low frames weird you out, neat that you can click around the hill residence and uhhh........ thats about it really! theres some shitty minigames, but really i stumbled on this abandonware by complete chance nobody even really pointed this out to me i was just itching to see what shows had games that may've flown to the gutter that people were just Not talking about
And realistically i understand why this one doesnt come up in conversation
its got physical copies that are expensive asf because of the novelty of it existing At All
and there's like half an hour's worth of gameplay here, maybe a bit more depending on how hard you lock-in with those minigames
if youre a king of the hill fan uhhhhhhhhhhhh...
i mean you aint missin shit by not playing this LOL
but sure go ahead

Doom

2016

this is the first DOOM game ive ever played and I actually liked this game quite a bit :o
I dont think ill ever be big on the shooting genre but this had a pretty good gameplay loop, looks great and the challenges and secrets were genuinely fun to find and everything. It never really felt like it was getting too repetitive and I guess my only gripe is that i kinda wish there was more bosses like

spoiler:
.
.
.
.
theres only like 3 in this game and the final boss doesnt even have a second form which i found rly weird, it was still pretty fun but
h u h. it was strange.
but YEAHHHHH this hit the spot like a cold slushie at the gas station
but

DayZ

2013

i randomly remembered this game existed and did some LIGHT research to try and fill in gaps of my knowledge (since i dropped this shit around 2015) and what a funny fucking existence of a game
what's technically a large glorified mod for arma 3 is also what I see as one of the final pillars of the zombie craze boom of the mid 2000s to the early 2010s
I mean that in both a good AND a bad way
Good in the fact that this game's alpha was such a widely discussed thing on youtube when it was new that I often saw a lot of youtubers I liked doing lets plays streaming it and it ran like garbage on my old laptop but I still really enjoyed it and was intrigued since i never played an open world survival thing like this with a shitload of people. it was funny seeing people like uberhaxornova getting hoe'd by random dudes with funny microphones

and BAD(yeah hell of a mouthful on that second half huh) in the sense that this was in ALPHA FOR LIKE EIGHT FUCKING YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARS I FORGOT ABOUT IT FOR HALF OF THAT LMAO infact I didnt even know it was out of alpha in 2018 until 2020, not that I really cared then and was dying to hop on but more like a "huh, neat" kind of thing

From what I gather though it obviously didnt live up to the hype and they still struggle to put out substantial updates but I meannnnn.. i still think this game did the best it could in a weird way, like hear me out for a second but
this game was one of the last pillars of the zombie craze yeah but it was also the start to a much more Defined game genre
the "heres a bunch of random resources, heres a shitload of people, heres things you can build and craft and mic support, and heres no technical endgoal" type of game, the open apocalyptic multiplayer adventure resource gathering shooter rpgs, now you can say "Jodie, that shit is pulled off a lot better in other games" and youre right! It's why we have things like ARK, RUST, Unturned, Ice Station Z, uhh Agario
and so on

games that are all about you just getting immersed and having fun with exploration and the struggle because there's something addictive about that especially with mayhem of other people trying to do the same thing as you and I think this is an important cornerstone of the industry that's lost its steam for games that have more of an end objective like with shooters or the latest ongoing trend 'battle royales' and who knows what battle royales will be replaced with if at all

but im getting off-base, yeah this game fucking sucks but it totally had its moments as fleeting as they were

its lowkey a good game but the people who play it suck doo doo. its gotten kinda fun to view them as insects that arent worth my time and makes playing more tolerable with them.

the game itself is genuinely really fun with often a fairly balanced meta that obviously favours things but shifts often and anything can be viable for most players.

takes too long to learn tho

its pretty great!! playable crack id say!
honestly this shit feels so fast
I dont even mind the short length considering this is so cheap in the first place! i think those drones are so fucking annoying but once you get the rhythm down for what upgrades you wanna prioritize best and keep on yourself it becomes like "ok youre all set, if you choke now its all on you"

i think the game has some nice replay value as well... emphasis on some!! bc like, i know i just said i LIke that its short but once you get acclimated you steadily stop caring about killing everything more and more until you got enough upgrades you can chuck yourself ass-backwards through enemies however much u want on a drop of idol liquid

but not everything needs to be endless and i especially think itd be asking too much of a like, what, two dollar game to be that? it knows what it is and its just a good time to get the endorphins flowing

wears its Idol on it's sleeve if you will, so go ahead, if you like shooter roguelikes then go for it

the sprite visuals are nice, everything feels fast. and i really love the organic lifeclock of the idol constantly draining unless you kill things to fill it, its an addictive feeling that makes me wish there was atleast a harder mode or something even

Uh...but speaking of those visuals!!.. of course, this also has blaring flashy visuals here though so if you got a trigger for tht or smthn... dont worry! there's an accessibility toggle if that sounds like itll fuck with you heavy.

thats really all i got see ya! <3

girl i love tekken this shit is so fucking awesome

I can't stress enough how satisfying everything feels to do and even though im salty as fuck that Lei Wulong didnt make it and probably wont even be DLC at this point, this is still a really cool starting roster i like literally all of the new characters

im kinda nice with victor but im not nice with azucena and reina yet i gotta L E A R N i gotta get BETTER

even though i already played 8's predecessors before i think this def sits in the upper echelon of the ones ive played on basis alone of how fresh this shit feels

I dont think i fw ALL the new music and I think some characters inclusion in the story is rly just bein there to be there but it can be so fucking funny
and that conclusion to it's storymode was some real ass shit idc

tekken ball wipes most other sports

uhhh i main lili so i cant complain that hard abt much anythin else with the roster

but this aint getting a perfect 5/5 because i think its fucking disgusting that lei is in the coffin, panda got a slot, and eddy is DLC instead of base roster

the world is ass-backwards, yet in spite of this, i cant say i dont love watchin it revolve
i love u tekken

Let's get this out of the way first: The final boss in this game is bullshit. Yes, I love every bit of this game, but it was still bullshit. BIG difficulty spike. I tried at least ten times, but kept dying off to its overpowered attacks. I thought about cheating (I'm a grown man, I've got shit to do), but I wanted it do it 'right,' because I had grown to love this game and didn't want the last bit to be spoiled like that. I didn't want a second healer in the party either because my favourite character, Vivi, had to be there for the last fight. So I changed my equipment around, tried some new tactics and it wasn't so bad after all. And now that I avoided ruining the final boss for myself...

The further this game went on, the better it got. It started off as a good game, was hitting greatness by the end of Disc 2, and in the endgame - helped by some incredibly moving and epic music by Uematsu - became excellent. This is among his best work. This is among everybody involved's best work. The game feels like a look back on the series up till that point as it said goodbye to the PS1 era. Designs from the 2D games return, but never at the expense of FF IX's own identity.

I loved the cast. Vivi is my guy, of course, but everyone's personalities are a good mix of cartoonish and sympathetic. The story got better and better as it went on, where most games fizzle a bit at some point, and even the villain felt like he had a point. Also the villain is incredibly sexy so even if he didn't have a point I'd root for him.

The combat is straightforward and rewarding, the level scaling is appropriate, and the game is really good at making you feel your progress. If there is one thing I had to nitpick, it's that the Trance/super saiyan mode was irrelevant to most battles and couldn't be influenced much by the player, but it doesn't really matter.

There is also so much to do in the towns aside from the main story. They'll make a minigame out of anything. The card game is really fun and I'd love to play it irl, and it's easy to get sidetracked by something to do so long as you wander around. Both the in-game graphics and the FMVs are astoundingly good for the PS1, and the remaster makes them even better.

This game feels like one of those stars-aligned moments where a bunch of creative folk got together, decided they were going to make something good and did it, without pressure. There's almost nothing to criticize in it. Nothing feels like it had to be compromised on. The game doesn't have the weight of being the end of an era, or a retrospective, or anything like that on it - it's just there to be enjoyed. Highly recommended to people who like RPGs and people who don't, because this is as good an introduction as could be.

This game hates me and *i* Love it.

Lets address the elephant in the room so nobody gets it twisted going forward looking at this review on this website, this game's content warnings are absolutely not joking around. Your character can be sexually assaulted, come across sexual assault and a lot of othter means of fucked up shit going forward. All of which is possible by random chance of one of the most common enemy types in the whole game... I initially thought to myself when I first heard about this game that I'd skip out on it.. surely I dont need to play EVERY rpgmaker game under the sun, ive been a massive fan of games using the engine to think around and excel its finite structuring to make experiences not just in the means of replicating a spritebased rpg youd find on an older console, but to go above and beyond doing something that Only a mind with a vision outside of the restraints could piece together and I went for it. curiosity definitely urged me toward it .
And I was unhappy to see those content warnings were right, I absolutely hated how little thought and how much thought at the same time was put into some of the more gruesome featured fates for the characters regardless of dark fantasy as a whole.. and shut the game off immediately after i saw the dark priest guy bleed from his asshole and slowly die...

But then something shifted.
Because the game does not start like that, youre thrust into this sort of grab-quick and go area thatll run you through all your paces and ready you for everything going forward to expect in gameplay Feel
this isnt to say that all the mechanics and systems peak in the first hour or the first level, its just the game is good at not even necessarily spelling anything out to you.
The atmosphere is so defined in each floor having so much different shit going on and equipment is rng, if there's anything keeping this from clocking in at the 5/5 that isnt relating to my thoughts on the darker content the game has going on IT ISSSSSSSS... THE DOUBLE EDGED SWORD OF THERE BEING A LOT OF RNG THAT MAKES OR BREAKS YOUR RUNS LMAO
Like even on the easiest difficulty.. the BASE difficulty.. you can get pretty screwed by just 50/50 odds alone being bad
Now Me Personally
I LOVE random chance in games, I love toughing shit out by the skin of my teeth, i absolutely adore it it makes my brain twitch
There's a unique dread to feel from having gone through two coin tosses and not being able to even fucking save your game because youre that unlucky and then having the sweet release of your bad luck shying away at the perfect moment in the last bad youve tried since your adrenaline stopped being so high from a random teeth gnashing little shitswisher goblin tht doesnt even actually hurt that much when it attacks but for Fucks sake they can trip you up on a tile and waste your god damn time
And TIME
Is NOT always on your side....
Given how there's so much RNG to take into account with collecting items, scurrying around(there are damage tiles... that can give you Infections), and even the fucking layout of the map and some enemy spawns can be very different too!

Witholding spoilers because this game is a treasure trove of different shit to see and interact with, but an example of this is how there's an enemy type i saw about four times in the same specific area of the game i was running through on the fifth floor.. BUT. on my 2nd most recent attemptttt.. that fatherfucker was on the 2nd floor just Out Of N O W H E R E and i think there's something insanely hilarious about that and interesting.
It's like even when you think youre going through the motions and taking the same steps forward with a different character... i mean you are but.. it can still play out VERY different
especially with your loadout and things youll grab more than anything else i mean i remember i was fiending for some opium or tobacco ingame(restores sanity with no drawbacks pft) and i found jack, shit and a lot of dick instead
but in another save i found a lot of it and was moreso pining for things like healing items more and more

And through all this is also the combat which you would obviously want to avoid given that there's no experience and often times there's scarce rewards even leftover on an enemy's body unless you memorize what type has the certain key or whatever you may need to make progression that much swifter. Limb hacking and shit in this game is also something that can help, never thought a game would encourage me hackin off some dude's nads to get the drop on them and try to even the odds
At some point with your party members
And knowhow from battles you accumulate
you get that EUPHORIA of realizing you dont suck at the game as much as you thought in an organic fashion
And then you get in the rhythm of things, the gears are tumbling!!! YOURE WINNING!!!!!! YOURE! WINNINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAH...AHAHAHAHAHA...AHAH...AH...ahah..aha....a...hm.......a-....

And then you realize youve only been in the first quarter of the game this whole time

And then you realize that to save somebody you went down in the dungeons for in the first place... dies in 30 ingame minutes if you cant get to them fast enough.

And then after doing the easiest ending in the game to pull off....

It sets in, there's no getting out until you uproot every last nasty weed down there
Or it plagues you, it EATS at you
even when youre out of the dungeons it lingers in your head and it doesnt stop, like the beck and call of something MORE in there.. something MORE to overcome, some different sect or being you havent worked the puzzle around or outwitted yet if at all, that ITCHING sensation..
i dont even know if ill be able to see more than just one or two endings myself
but i dont wANT to look up these endings, i dont WANT to look up interactions, i dont WANT someone specifically to tell me all the things i missed because as fucked up as this thing is
It feels special To me
In a highly specific way it's constricted around my frontal lobe and the only way to stop the swelling is to feverishly check every corner of it until im Almost sick of even looking at it. It's so beautifully fucked up. It's like im playing with a dark fantasy bubblewrap simulator in the most bare and base way of putting how i feel on it.

I greatly look forward to gettin my hands on that second game because even after ive had my fill of this one, watched every video essay and discussion video i have set on my watch later youtube playlist, and thunked my head around about it enough and soaked in all the lore....
ill pretty much insatiably be going forward hungry for more

final thoughts: yea play it if you fuck with rpgmaker horror, but also turn based rpgs but also games with a fuckton of choices and immersive sim/rogue traits(there's a lot to unpack)
just please dont think im bullshititng abt the sexual content, if it makes your stomach turn there's a readily available patch for it online and also this is a Hard game
But if you made it to the end of this giant ass thing then go for it babe
have fun suffering!!!!
