me after playing spark 1 : maaan this is the best sonic 2D i've ever played, there's no way this can get any better
me now : HOLY SHIIIIIIII

what if we get 3D sonic and tell the devs to actually trust the players ? no level that plays itself, no locking the character anywhere, no glitchy rails that kill you more than any boss in the game, just your character, your moveset and a biiiig physics based level where you can go absolutelly nuts.
i love games that if youre skilled enough you can tell the level design to F off. this game doesn't just have parrying, it IS parry, parry the enemy, parry the level hazard, parry the bottomless pit, parry the boss, parry death ! it honestly feels like the dev just sat down and kept scribbling ''what would be really cool to add ?'' and just went ahead and added it in the most competent way possible.

this is the evolution of 3D sonic, level design that trusts and never restricts, a cheesy story that hypes itself up while going full swing, you can't help but find it endearing.
this is what i was hoping sonic adventure 2 was going to be.

its not all sunshine tho, the menu config is very limited and the level select is a bit bland, but those nitpicks really do not make the experience worse in any way.

managed to beat this DLC before beating the main game, i fangirled at alan wake, as you do.
the only bad part of this is how dogshit the last boss is, and how little i got from alan. but thats ok, i know where i can get more alan

what if sam lake made a scp fan game, and then made it part of his entire shared universe, i hekkin love that guy

buttery smooth controls, a metroidvania that is both trippy and cheeky at the same time, this game is enormous, not in the sense that the map is big but the oldest house really feels like a lived in place, you get to make it your own castle as you do side quest and unlock stuff, some stuff are slowly made more sense while others are left to interpretation.
the quirks of the characters are what sell how odd yet lovely this whole place is, from godlike janitors having a fight with a poop demon, to a underground lady dealing with another world threatening issue totally unrelated to your main mission, it really does feels like a SCP inspired game in the goofiest part of the fandom.
i love that its a metroidvania too, so you have access to the entire map.
jesse controls amazingly, she's smooth and quick to snap to your input, after playing through red dead redemption i needed a responsive game like that, sheesh.

gigachad afterlife detective goes to do his job.
love it, the aesthetic, the goofy yet dreadful nature of it, the sad yet comforting, i wish i could pay money for this because its an amazing little game. it hits my vibe just right

a cute little ''dress up'' collectaton where you collect energy to be able to reach higher places and collect more outfits, it doesn't have a end, its quite literally just a small collecting level where you fly around and dress your fairy up, a cute concept with a somewhat eerie atmosphere, for Keyboard and mouse players, beware, the camera is controlled with Q and E, with no way to use the mouse, the menus also use enter to select meaning you'll be doing some awkward hand moving

not the promised masterpiece due to some very annoying flaws, but god damn if it isn't a fine game.

wish it was shorter, the game could do without making you do around 50 favours for a single npc before they finally decide to be useful.
the game mostly consists of a awesome story buried in an absurd amount of favor quest,
john : come on do that thing you promised
guy : sure sure.... uhhh could you do me one last thing for me ?
john : god damn sure, but if you ask again i'll kill you
he'll ask again 5 more times and john does not in fact, kill him, this would be fine if it wasn't the entirety of the game, this game is about 17 hours in lenght, and i say it could be 7.
i left satisfied and pleased, but still expected more from the internet's claimed greatest game of all time

this game is a lie, brazilians should play better than cyborgs.
this dlc is much like the original game but shorter and clunkier (cuz sam somehow feels more sluggish than raiden), doesn't help that they throw the worst enemies from raiden campaign at you without ripper mode to make quick work of them

sam is cool tho, very cool, and this game is canonical to real life, brazilians can indeed double jump and make people take double damage by pissing them off

amazing game, odd quirks that activelly sabotage it.

for every 10 great ideas this game has, there's one weird one
you get simplified parry \ its tied to directional.
you get amazing combat \ you also get shitass stealth
you get excelent bosses \ you get shitty boss weapons
the game is 7 hours long \ 2 hours is for armstrong alone (you'll need it)

overall its a game that its easily loveable, not as mechanically complex but chamingly edgy in a way that i can't help but find extremelly endearing.

TBD

demo review :
might be a tad bit obtuse with its little problem-solving but overall a game i would sell my kidney to see done, what an amazing little gem, one which will probably send me down a rabbit hole looking for more of this style

short and sweet, yet delivers what it wants masterfully
one of the best uses of the N64 styles i've seen, i wish more games tried it out

i'm gonna play more games from this dev, their sense of humor matches exactly with mine.

just straight up goofy nonsense that makes sense

played the demo, very stylised, i cannot wait to try the full version, definelly on my radar now

remedy doesn't disappoint, but even they can hit mid sometimes.

not a bad game at all, in fact the combat is super fun, i don't know if i didn't explored as much but it felt a bit lacking in that cheeky remedy style that they have throughout the game ( i didn't find sam lake), the cast is rather interesting and i like the plot twists they throw on you, there isn't a character that i didn't grow to like by the end of the game.

still, plot taking too long to get steam, the game being optimized by ducktaping and prayer and the cutscenes having to reach for a streaming service in order to play (why..) prevent me from loving it as much as i love the other remedy games, but thats not to say i dislike it, on the contrary, i wish other mid games i played were as fun and plot whack as this one, it just doesn't get to a alan wake level

i appreciate the intent but for R$ 29,99 you can get more competent games such as corn kids 64 for cheaper.

at first it starts nicely, you slowly get used to the mechanics but once you play the first 1 hour you'll see every asset the game has to offer (they get recolored later on) but the end gets really stingy with checkpoints while making you rely on glitchy gimmicks to progress, such as spinning chained rocks that don't quite follow your character allignment right, and rail segments where you can visibly see your character lose momentum and stutter in the air, i understand this is a budget title but for this price, i can get more balanced and working stuff

Spoiler alert :
the ending is also just a title drop... nothing else, 30 bucks for this

get yourself orbo's odissey, lunistice, super sami roll, pseudoregalia, spark the electric jester 3 for half the price of this game or less !

a game with a crazy amount of tech, a fun story with a familiar face and a new character that honestly i didn't hate at all, i quite like nero, unlike dante the boy is mean't to be more agressive, and honestly after ''el DoNtE'' i guess everyone forgave the little guy.

still i prefer the third game, it felt more concise than this one, less gimmicky, i'm not a big fun of adding gimmicks to spice gameplay, specially when the game doesn't even need to do that, its already great for its combat alone

HOWEVER, i wish nero had a trickster dash...
