Immersive systems and great atmosphere, but horribly tuned encounters that can turn laughably easy very quickly. Also a good handful of jank-- pulling out those first aid meds fucking SUCKS and is so frequently inconsistent.
On the whole, I think I consider this to be a prettier but more shallow shadow of the RE4 port to the Quest 2.
Finally finished ARR... Working on the patch quests right now and I have never been closer to prematurely dropping a game I'm so invested in.
just finished replaying the switch port of this-- it was the first time i'd touched the game since i was a kid.
it's likely copycat syndrome, since so many much worse games have aped mechanics from AC2, but it's beyond infuriating to engage with some of the mechanics here in 2023. sure, the parkour feels great pretty often, but if I have to fight in a stupid lock-on counter based braindead easy combat system ever again im going to blow my head off
