So in my previous review of Jet Set Radio Future, I stated that I hoped that it would get a sequel, and I think this is the closest we're gonna get to one.

Starting with the good bits, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is an ok-ish game with a unique roster of characters, the soundtrack is as expected for a game of this type and the skating controls are pleasurable to use, a vast improvement from the JSR Games.

However, I felt disappointed that this game didn't really turn out to be that much more than a JSRF "Sequel". It relies way too heavily on the core concepts of the JSR Series and it refused to do much else, The heat system and Combat feels janky, the story honestly felt cobbled together and the trick system is nothing more than mindless button mashing

The Skating and the Graffiti system is fun but the same loop of Graffiti and Trick Battles over and over got boring fast for me. This game had so much potential to be a true successor to a series which felt like it was never gonna come back, and it just didn't live up to what it could have been

If you come into this game expecting anything more than a tribute to Jet Set Radio, you will be disappointed, if you want to experience JSR nowadays, you're better off just emulating JSRF

So uhmm this is like my first time reviewing absolutely anything and i thought what better game to make my debut on then one of my favourite games ever

I am a HUGE fan of the original Jet Set Radio, in my opinion it's one of the best games ever made, and JSRF most definitely does justice to it's predecessor, sporting a very unique and memorable soundtrack that i often listen to while not playing and a beautiful world which is an absolute pleasure to skate around. My only criticism, however, is that the camera controls are rather slow.

All in all, i sincerely hope that even after 21 years, that this game gets a remake, or even a sequel. I love to think of what Tokyo-to would look like with modern graphics, and i would definitely recommend this series to anyone who is interested.
