Gitaroo Man seems like a simple rhythm game, but it has a surprising amount of story for the time and genre, rivalled by games like Parappa the Rapper, Space Channel 5, and iNiS's later works, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan and Elite Beat Agents. While Gitaroo Man lacks some of the polish of those games, it makes up for it with heart and soul. It delves into teen angst, overcoming the odds, and finding the courage to embrace your individuality, in the messy and chaotic ways that a shonen writer would. It helps that its eclectic soundtrack is full of bangers, and to this day, The Legendary Theme is one of my favorite themes ever used in a video game.
Koei did an okay job at localizing the game in English, but its quality is still questionable. Part of me wishes there were subtitles as the audio balancing is all over the place, and some dialogue is near impossible to make out during levels. The game can also be chaotic during the actual rhythm sections, with way too much going on in the background while you're trying to focus on hitting notes. If you plan on playing this, I would also add a photosensitivity warning as the game regularly employs flashing lights that can worsen depending on the in-game camera.

I adore BG3. I love role-playing, getting involved in dialogue, and turn-based combat, and BG3 does all three with polish and creative flair.
I have to give kudos to Larian for spending time testing and listening to player feedback. I realized a lot of things wouldn't be the way they are without extensive feedback, and while I'm sure there are still bugs to fix, I appreciate that they've managed to address most things rather quickly. They even beefed up the endgame sequence while they were at it, making it much more rewarding. While BG3 goes into some dark and violent subject matter, there's a sense of joy and pride about the entire game that is infectious.

A fantastic followup to an already solid spinoff. The story does a great job of setting up threads over the course of the entire game and then tying them altogether, which is something only a few games in the series have done. It also brings some great elements to Edgeworth as a character.
Although every case is important, I could feel my energy waning during cases 2 and 3, and coupled with the second half being surprisingly long, this led to me taking multiple breaks from the game. Seriously, Gyakuten Kenji 2 is nearly as long as AA1 WITH Rise from the Ashes, if not longer. The lack of an option to speed up the text also hurt the experience for me a bit. Still, I think this is a great entry that many international series fans are missing, and I hope Capcom finds a way to localize it eventually.
