A really cool compilation with neat extras like the games' original instruction manuals. Unfortunately has less content than the Xbox/PS2 versions.
A flawless collection that gives you some of the Blue Blur's earliest/best experiences. The music is phenomenal (especially the Extras menu), and I found myself just getting lost in there looking at all of the old Archie Sonic comic covers.
Not my preferred way to play these games, but still admirable.
So many games, tons of extras, this is how you do a proper anthology.
decent collection, with a good selection of games
I really wanted to give 2D Sonic a chance, but I just can't get into it. So many of the stages have traps & platforming that kill any momentum you're trying to buildup with Sonic. Unless you have the stages memorized you're always going to run into obstacles since there's not enough time & draw distance to react organically.

A goof collection of sonic games with some nice bonus content. Sadly this collection is heavily overshadowed by Mega Collection Plus, so not much reason to play this one anymore.
Time and time again, I try to play Sonic games. It just never works out. They're always unfun. This is no exception. 2D Sonic games give me physical pain. I don't want to play a game where I can't see where I'm going. Oh yeah, it's so fun to consistently get flung blindly in to walls and have the momentum of the game keep crashing down to a halt.
This is one of those time that putting a bunch of games together actually works out, I mainly played this version for the spinball but the mean bean machine was fun too.
this collection made me appreciate sonic as a kid, and 3d blast.

GOAT collection game. The extras were so neat!!!!
You literally have most of Sonic's Big Classic Hits all in one game, along with a whole ton of extra goodies to enjoy like comic covers, art gallery, a few videos, and some information. One of my most defining games of my childhood, and the very first introduction I had to Puyo Puyo in the form of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean machine.

when i was in second grade, i begged my mom to invite two twins from my class over to play sonic with. they ended up playing with and breaking this disk. chase and logan, you may have ruined my life. i cried for weeks about that.
The good collection
This game was one of the first compilations I could remember. I grew up with all these games on the sega and to have them all on one disc was awesome! You can’t save in the games(unless it’s Sonic 3) so that’s kind of rough. The unlockables are good but l feel like they could’ve added more. You can unlock some extra games and that’s it. The game where are all solid. You get Sonic 1- knuckles in their complete state with near perfect emulation. You also get 3d blast, Spinnall, and mean bean machine. The presentation oozes with nostalgia. It’s probably one of the best Sonic compilations out there.
why was dr robotniks game so hard
yet another compilation title done right. The game selection is great, the mega drive emulator is great, the bonus materials are great, the presentation is great, If you need a way to play the original sonic games, this is definitely as good a way as any to get into the series with as it contains everything you'd need to get started. One of the best compilation titles.

Other then the unlock requirements for the games it is an overall solid way to play the classics and the music is just the cherry on top.
