Woke up this morning and decided to play Darkstalkers really fuckin' hard. Cheap piece of crap, can't even quarter-circle!

I played through about 7 character's stories, though I couldn't tell you what actually happens in any of them since I'm playing off a burned Japanese copy. The ending cutscenes are all very cute, though. I'd let Q-bee move in anytime she wants, and she bring her whole carnivorous family with her. Some of the best character designs in the genre, if you ask me. I'm a BB Hood main only because I can't get enough of her beatboxing.

Like with most fighting games, I'm neither smart nor seasoned enough to really dig into the technical aspects. This plays good, the animations are great, and there's some really solid hit feedback, so I had a fantastic time with it. Just a shame someone decided to design the Sega Saturn D-pad such that it connects to a thin piece of brittle plastic fed through the mold of the face plate. I think BB Hood should beatbox over their graves (BB Hood is not real so this statement is not legally actionable, according to my lawyer, Larry Davis.)

Otro juego de la saga sin explorar demasiado, pero a la vez cuando lo jugue se sentia mucho mejor que el primero y los nuevos personajes jugables fueron una adicion muy agradecida.

Interesting how this game reverses one of the things that made the first game unique compared to Street Fighter, but in compensation, your Special Meter can now get up to 6 (or maybe even more) meters, encouraging players to use their EX Moves more.
Also, even if their playstyle is not my cup of tea, Donovan and Hsein-Ko (Lei-Lei in Japan) are cool characters to have!

Besides that, this is less of a sequel and more of an expansion of the original, kinda like going from Street Fighter II to Super Street Fighter II.

Rating : 8/10. An enhanced version of the original Darkstalkers a year after it released akin to something like a street fighter 2 turbo. The roster receiving 4 new characters which was already incredibly distinct makes this a definitive version of the first game to play.

like i said in the other darkstalkers review

i used to like this game more than Vampire Savior but now i look at them as equals. we didn't realize how good we had it in the 90's for Capcom fighting games.

Basically just a Turbo/New Challengers update to the original Darkstalkers. A pretty fun time and the boss characters were certainly a neat addition but there isn't too much else to say about this one. Just more of what made the OG Darkstalkers such a fun time to begin with.

More of the first game's strengths with new, awesome characters and AI that isn't near unbeatable on the medium setting.

POSSIBLE ELECTION FRAUD IN WYOMING?

On July 10, 2022, local government authorities stated in a public announcement that an individual called "Anakaris" was able to multiply democrats votes by inputting LP, LP, ⬇️, MK, HK (air ok).

Donovan isnt good in this game and thats really sad :(

Sure Vampire Saviour / Hunter 2 outclass this as a competitive game but this is my GOAT.

O jogo é muito quebrado e falta bastante recurso, mas é divertidinho.

Felicia and Morrigan are really cool, I like them

Jogo de briga divertido e estiloso, a trilha sonora é boa a beça e o character design é o ápice. Não é um exemplo a se seguir em balanceamento na questão da jogabilidade, mas tem realmente qualidade.

Solid improvement over the first darkstalkers, and I don't think this has as much wack stuff as the third game so it's a lot simpler in that regard. I like the third game more because of the characters in it but the roster here is pretty based too don't get me wrong. No matter what Darkstalkers game you choose to play it's gonna be a good time.

+ Near-perfect conversion from the arcade with gorgeous spritework
+ Excellent soundtrack
+ Greatly improves upon the mechanics, balance and hitboxes of the first game
+ Accessible and intuitive combo system that allows almost any normal attack to be strung together
+ Wonderful roster of diverse characters who are brought to life by truly spectacular animation
-- Reutilizes many assets of its predecessor, including the exact same stages

An improvement of the original - feels more fluid and responsive - not quite all the way to Vampire Saviours yet, but it's clear how you get there.

Also the AI difficulty got turned WAY down i fucking melted everybody with Victor's heavy punch and I will not feel shame about it.

Lord Raptor can rap, do a guitar solo and literally dunk your ass. Find me a fuckin' character who's better. Party hardy motherfuckers.

I'm usually bad at fighting games, but this one was actually a lot of fun. I think it's the larger amount of ranged attacks in this than say Street Fighter, and the fact that it's 2D. Cleared it on 5-star (out of 8) difficulty as Morrigan. Phobos was harder than Pyron ironically.
