One of my favorite Fire Emblem games. It features the godlike sprites and artstyle of the GBA games, a solid soundtrack, multiple paths through the Eliwood and Hector campaigns, and it even has a decent plot. Compared to other entries, FE7 has a very strong cast of characters with worthwhile and interesting backstories to discover, along with the typical one-notes and archetypes. Solid map design and mission variety throughout the game as well. FE7 is the all-around good entry of the series.

my intro to fire emblem (outside of melee). love it. love lyn. love H E C K I N ' H E C T O R

One of the best Fire Emblems, but I take issue with how the game is structured. Lyn's chapters are a real drag if you already know how FE works. I prefer having one long quest rather than three separate shorter scenarios, one of which is a long tutorial and the third is barely different.

a solid game to the series! my favorite of the pre-awakening fire emblems. hoping for an echoes remake, especially if they combine it with binding blade for a two generation game. that would appeal to the people who like optimizing builds for children without... well. everything about how janky fates did children in an attempt to copy awakening. less like fates and awakening and more like genealogy, you know?

a resounding "meh". i can't think of much negative or positive to say about it. generic and bland srpg

If I were Eliwood I would simply not kill the weird ice dragon that appears out of nowhere

Join Eli's Wood, Hector Con Carne, and the cool girl as they murder things until they realize they need horses to be viable.

The one with roy's dad.

it's the best one that has officially been translated

this is the only fire emblem i've played (so far) and i really didn't care for it. everything mechanically germane to FE's battles sucks and failed to interest me. Didn't care much for the plot, most of the characters didn't really grab me; best I can say is that it's at least well-paced and has some really great spritework.

So good. There's a reason this was the first one to get to the West. Lots of likeable and interesting characters, the perfect balance between giving you a challenge but not making you hate yourself. Looks and sounds great too.

Eliwood slicing that dragon that just randomly showed up made me laugh really hard

America's first Fire Emblem is a very solid one. The story is pretty average by series standards, but the protagonists stand out as beloved and memorable. Gameplay is pretty standard by Fire Emblem standards, but average Fire Emblem is pretty hecking great.

Eliwood and Lyn are the OTP.

Love this game. Haven't played most of the FE games, but of the ones I have, this is the purest experience to me.

FE7 manages to be equally offensively bad in story and in gameplay yet still have fans, which I commend it for

its painfully vanilla but it was for many the first game in the series

The probably the best of the fire emblem GBA games. Decent story with pretty decent support conversations. Characters are archetypes that aren't deep but have a way into worming into your mind and the game has a enough subtext to them to make them stand out. Really addicting SRPG elements spiced up with the fear of permadeath. However, the best thing about an handheld Fire Emblem game, to both of its detriment and benefit, that its just a well done JRPG that doesn't really break any bounds. Blazing Blade is what probably the epitome of what I want from a good Fire Emblem game. A story that doesn't overstay its welcome, the usual difficulties in trying to navigate the levels, and very good mechanics that make playing it a joy.

Very fun beginner friendly game for newcommers to the series but the story starts to fall apart upon closer inspection

Where did this game get so much hate nowadays? Like man, it's still rock solid great

A barebones strategy RPG, what's not to love? Plus Lyndis is in it.

If I was Kishuna I would simply cease to exist

My introduction to the franchise. While I'm not a fan of the plot, the game feels so much fun to play. For some reason every unit feels unique and make me want to try 'em out!

A very nostalgia-driven experience, Fire Emblem 7 has not held up over the years. The game is a good introduction to the series for the Western audience and the game is beloved for the memorable characters like Lyn and Hector. As a Fire Emblem title, FE7 is very neutral, feeling very much like a base Fire Emblem. Gameplay is solid but unimpressive and this title is generally considered one of the easiest entries in a series loved for its difficulty.

One of the biggest sticking points for Fire Emblem 7 is the story that's generally considered to be laughably worse than most Fire Emblem games (an impressive feat as many of the Fire Emblem games don't have that good of stories anyways). The lower difficulty harms how players who started on FE7 play the series. Units who would be terrible in another Fire Emblem are perfectly usable in 7, which leads players to fallacies about what makes characters good and leading to worse gameplay in later and earlier titles. Fire Emblem 7 is serviceable and nostalgic but the weakest of the GBA Fire Emblem titles.
