Many competitive players deride this game for good reason, but from a casual perspective, I adored this game and played it nonstop. The subspace emissary blew my mind and I long for a similar mode to return to the franchise.

Subspace is fun and also the dozens of trophies. The least competitive but one of the most fun Smash Bros.

My first legitimate Smash Bros game and another piece of my childhood. I loved messing around with the items options and having chaotic timed battles with friends. Visiting this game again to replay through Subspace Emissary again made me realize how rough this game was. Competitively, this game is a mess. The feel of the game is sluggish, breaking fast paced combat to bore both the viewer and the player. There's the tripping mechanic that's the worst of all; it's rng dependent on the ground which messes up matches. You had to play really campy in the air to win unless you're looking for an unfortunate fate when dashing across land. Casually, it is great and the items remained unchanged too. Final Smash and Smash balls makes for a nice comeback mechanic and adds more to the moveset of characters, making for a cool cinematic.
Subspace Emissary is an interesting case. Some people hate this and prefer World of Light from Ultimate; some hate World of Light and like this. On my side, I think it's ok. It has its benefits and flaws, just like what World of Light did. I think it's cool that the characters interact with each other, be it that they're silent but it makes for good animation and expression. Subspace Emissary focused more on platforming than fighting for the most part, but when it got to the fighting it was alright. The bosses were great but the last boss is a bitch for a reason. I love this game, but it glaring flaws and unbalancing made this not as fun for others and myself.

The best one simply for having the best single player content out of them all

Honestly even though I know smash Bros ulitmate is technically the best this will be my choice for my favorite smash Bros the adventure mode is amazing and memorable the cool secrets like with zero suit Samus are memoriable.

Really fun, but the game becomes a lot more boring they more you learn how to play.

meta knight may be broken but you know what brawl is the one smash bros i have the most fond memories of and also story mode was wild i miss it

Brawl wasn't a bad game, you all are just mean. Though I'm so glad tripping is gone, I don't miss that at all. I was so mad about Mewtwo's removal, though.

The literal embodiment of my nostalgia. Tripping sucks but that's the worst I can say about it. It's Smash through and through.

MELHOR JOGO DE TODOS OS TEMPOS

I have a theory that if they kept the tripping mechanic in Smash 4, we'd have a barrage of 30 year old nintendo fans today saying how much better tripping was in Brawl.

Why is everyone so mean to this one. Complained about it and they removed all the cool Single Player content they had in this one

i will never forgive Sakurai for what he did to Jigglypuff

Subspace emissary carries this one.

Solid casual smash game with one of the best fighting game single player modes ever made.

Me gusto mucho por la cantidad canciones, minijuegos, personajes, trofeos, retos y mapas que contiene.

even if it does feel ungodly bad to play competitively, i did have a lot of fun with 4-player and subspace emissary when i was younger

Que buenos recuerdos de infancia, aunque viendolo ahora, no tiene las mejores mecanicas y el subemisario es agggg, aunque es bastante entretenido y tiene uno que otro modo interesante

I got this game after a dentist appointment and had no idea I was getting it until afterwards. The lightbulb was out in the room I was playing it in and vividly remember the sun going down slowly as I played Subspace until late.

people hat this one for no reason. the best party game for you and your gamer friends

I will no longer take slander on this game. It's neutral is suprisingly fun(Minus tripping).
