It's a good game. cute, funny, there's definitely some depth and repeatability for the mystery solvers

It was quite charming and very well animated, although I think the time system adds an unnecessary pressure that discouraged me from wanting to fully explore each area. Once I discovered that attempts to fill in the family tree also took time I ignored that part of the game entirely.

I'm sure it's to encourage repeat play throughs but I'm not sure why that would be seen as a better system as simply not having the time limit and allowing me to just talk to all the characters at my own pace, or retry minigames without then being locked out from having enough time to visit other people.

I GOTTA REPLAY THIS SOMETIME AND PLAY THE UPDATE.
so so fun and delightful. so charming with an enormous number of animations and cute details. this game is too silly and I love it so much. I still remember the characters and situations really well after all this time. some minigames are more fun than the others, and it can be hard to do everything you want to with the time limit, but the game is so short that it's almost a non issue to me. love the ending, love this game, PLAY IT.
(also soundtrack is great thanks 2Mello)

While that I wouldn’t fully complete all of the mini games to get all of the family member badges, Later Alligator is one of the most fun games that I had played with it goofy charm and fun characters!

Plus it’s done by my favourite animation studio that really loves animating Alligators.

There's a really difficult version of three-card monte in this one. I got stuck for HOURS on that one. Look out for it!

The aptitude test on whether or not you're good at slide puzzles. IRL I'd snap grandpa's stupid puzzle in half and drop kick him into the stratosphere

The game is a mini game collection with some cute characters but i didnt find the mini games very fun and you need to play the multiple times to get better ending and i didnt want to do that.

Was grinning for most of this. All the characters are delightful, the world lush and rewarding, and then soundtrack has a really great range of unique tracks. Loved all of the mini games but a couple here and there had an obtuse win state that took a few tries. Really great for a long single session to 100%. Big pajama Sam vibes

This is such a hard game to hate for how much i love everything about it when i replayed it. i hope to see the Devs working on something as lovely as this again!

There's an Alligator Goku in this one, absolutely a canonical work to the goofy guy game catalog

Also since alligators are stronger than humans that means Alligator Goku beats regular Goku confirmed canon

I got the game on discount on Steam because I heard an OST on YouTube, this game has an absurd feel. For an indie game it really has some absurd OSTs, some very interesting characters and a graphic style that I loved. Also, there are many references to other popular media that made me laugh. The Humor in this game is AMAZING, definitely the best part of the game. The ending is predictable right from the start, but the other endings (you have to replay the game more than once) were an unexpected surprise. For a game that lasts 2 hours on average, I really enjoyed it a lot. I believe that 6 or 7 hours will be enough. You should definitely play it to have a good evening.

I heard about this game a couple of years ago and finally gave it a try.
One of the main draws was the graphical style and the whimsical tone of the game... Unfortunately, once I started playing, I didn't get as hooked as I expected... So, mileage will vary depending of the player.

The main thing you do in the game is find characters who will have mini games to play for you, but I thought too many games didn't have clear enough instructions, and you'd have to figure them out by failing at least once.

The game is short, and you'll be able to get back into it to explore and find collectables even after you've beaten it. However, even though I haven't seen everything the game has to offer yet, I don't know whether I'll launch the game one more time to actually see it.

TL;DR : The gameplay isn't stellar, but if you like the tone of this point'n'click / mini-game collection game, you'll be likely to excuse it, and you might even love it.

Jogo super fofo, com arte legal e muito engraçado. Porém a jogabilidade é muito fraca, e os mini-games são muitas vezes chatos, parando a descoberta da história. Vale a pena jogar, já que é curtinho.

its fun to see these characters talk and the art style is soo cute

It was okay. I think the animation is really charming and well done, and the music is too. I think having different dialogue scroll sounds for different characters would've been cool, considering how much dialogue there is. Even if there were just like, 5 or 6 different ones that characters shared. Total personal preference though.

Some of the minigames were kind of wack. Like the shoe/drawer one was totally luck based, and the anime dating one was fun in concept, but way too long and there was literally no way to know how good you were doing until it was over. When I played it, I thought it ended really well based on the dialogue, but then it told me I failed, and I was so confused. I also wish the time mechanic was more defined throughout the game. You don't know how long something takes (conversation/game/whatever) until you've already done it. They had the times listed for retrying a minigame, but not for anything else, which I think is kinda odd. And because of the time mechanic, you literally can't do everything in one playthrough. And I get that it encourages replayability, but (and I could be wrong here) I feel like the stuff I missed didn't encapsulate a full, secondary, completely different playthrough? And there were also a few of those minigames you HAD to play at least once. So I feel like encouraging replayability shouldn't have been a focus here. And on top of all of that, I felt like the game dragged for just a bit too long. Or maybe it was some of the minigames being too long that made me feel that way.

Regardless, I had fun. I probably just won't be replaying it.

Yeah, this was a cute game.
Later Alligator is a game that made me feel at ease while playing it. There was no real pressure or any major consequences to doing anything and for once, it felt pretty refreshing. The city is fun to explore and all of the different family members are funny and charming. Easily one of the most memorable games I’ve played and something that makes me smile.

I like Sweet Geraldine, she sounds like a thief trying to steal money. It would be a 5 but it has a time limit and I can't concentrate and I accidentally set someone to "rock". It was the hippie guy with all the flies, and I hit him on purpose and now he turned into a rock.

Love this silly little game so much also jerma

Adorable animation, but gameplay lost my interest very fast.

Really lovely game with SO much character in its art/animations and lots of fun little puzzles. Enjoyed the story a lot, and so much to see & find that I never minded running around the city to find stuff.

i wanna kiss pat. and like half the other gators in this game as well to be fair but i'm like specifically deeply in love with pat.

greatest game of all time for being transported into a gay anime dating sim with an alligator version of goro majima from yakuza

Yeah, it was cute. That second ending got got me, though.

Sights & Sounds
- The game looks amazing. Wonderful art direction all around
- The music is also excellent and does a great job setting the tone. A lot of light-hearted, fun to listen to tracks
- The character design is pretty cute

Story & Vibes
- At this point, I've only done my first playthrough, so I don't think I've figured out the "true ending" yet
- In your first playthrough, you'll attempt to figure out what mysterious fate is supposed to befall Pat, a particularly paranoid alligator. Looking at the achievements, the ending you receive the first time through isn't the actual ending
- The game has a fantastic sense of humor. I found myself chuckling throughout

Playability & Replayability
- As you're investigating the situation for Pat, you'll go around Alligator New York City interviewing Pat's friends and relatives. For each one, you'll play a little minigame. If you succeed, you collect their photo
- While many of the minigames are entertaining, there are a few duds
- Despite gameplay largely being a collection of minigames, this one won't give you WarioWare vibes. Bit of a different animal (ha) in terms of the design. You won't be rapidly going from one game to the next; each is partitioned by exploration and conversation
- I'll be circling back around to this game someday to further explore what it's got going on

Overall Impressions & Performance
- While it's not a graphically intensive game, it's worth noting that my first playthrough ran perfectly and without bugs

Final Verdict
- 6/10. It's possible that this game will grow on me in future playthroughs, but at first blush, it's just a cute game without a massive amount of depth. I'll probably update this review after I finish it again. Keep in mind it sits at 1.5-2 hours per playthrough, so the bang for your buck will largely depend on how many times you want to play it and dig into its secrets

A short and sweet visual novel/puzzle game that delivers big laughs and has genuine heart. Help a young alligator in a fictional version of NYC populated by goofy characters avoid the mob to figure out why his family is trying to “kill” him.

Really charming point-and-click game full of minigames and hilarious encounters. Lovely, fitting visuals and great writing.

cant believe this game about fucking gators was one of the funniest experiences ive had this year its so wittingly written with the right kind of humor for me i feel like it was purposely made for me because i always brag about having a haute couture but for humor (sex jokes and piss and poop jokes) so pillow fight was like we are gonna show you a piece of our minds

leaving that for later this is a point and click disclaimer i fucking despise point and clicks i tried to play syberia because a friend recommended it to me and it single handedly made me pause gaming for like a month because i touched the fucking bottom of the well with that one umh wait there could be fans of syberia here umh … i meant it was a great experience but not for me <3 so i was saying point and clicks arent for me which is funny because i reviewed that furry brothel game which is a point and click but with the added flair of porn CGs to fap to therefore it actually had a very good reason for me to try it

as for the game in it of itself i cant say much because first this is about a an alligator trying to find out who in his family is trying to kill him so talking about the whole plot would make the mystery aspect go away and second this is a game whose charm you cant really understand until you boot it up theres so much love put into this game that its honestly a shame it isnt as popular as i want it to be the animations are GORGEOUS absolutely the best ive seen in these cartoonish type of style and add so much to the experience that i honestly cannot think about this game without thinking about the dumb as shit character designs that are gonna make you laugh so hard and the smooth idle animations to give life to the portraits UGHHHHHH its so good and i swear theres so much thought being put in everything here the single characters the streets and locales the landscape and minigames nothing is left to chance i can feel the hard work they put into this game THROUGH the fucking screen i kid you not

so i was saying the main character of the game pat the alligator is being threatened to life by some kind of mysterious family event + hes definitely schizo so he hires the protagonist to investigate the circumstances and to do that you will have to get to know every single relative of this stupid guy and rest assured his family is MASSIVE parents cousins siblings grandparents friends boyfriends and girlfriends of friends everyones in for the party and to actually get to know the true intentions of these people you have to do some minigames

now im not a fan of minigames but the ones in this game were quirky enough to actually make me enjoy most of them and i have to applaud the sheer about of creativity in these ones because professor layton can only learn from this ong theres so many of them i cannot spoil them to you yes but rest assured that they will play with the concept of minigame a damn lot i had my wig snatched more than ones theres something for everybody puzzles card games and even VNs like

so you get the pins of each relative put them in the family tree and if you get all of them you get the true ending which made me gag a little bit i gotta be honest plot twist of the century

now as i was saying theres not a lot of meat to the game because this is not a game to play its a game to live and breathe and i swear to god this is the funniest game ive played all year the character all have at least some one liners that made me crack tf up and genuinely bingoed most of the stuff i like in humor apart from obviously… sex but whatever and im gonna put this imgur link to give you an idea to what the kind of humor this is because i have no idea how to explain it but that being said it was TOO GOOD definitely the best part of the game and if you hear me say something like this it means its really damn funny because 2 things i rarely get me from videogames and those are horror and humor because i only fear far right wing ideologies and only laugh at butt jokes and i guess if you want to go completely blind dont look at the screenshots DUMBASS

so umhhhhhhhhh im at a loss of words rn because again its such a weird game to recommend to people but if you play this im gonna send you some nudes there you go how to get players 101

stellar animation and funny writing, unfortunately the gameplay is too lackluster to give anything more than a 3/5
