This game is a system seller. Its even better than Sonic (and for me these words are hard to say ). You can feel the flow and rhythm of each level and if you catch it the game rewards you for that...

And the music...are u kidding?
As for me this is THE BEST platformer and it will be. Im sure.

The first video game I ever played. It was too scary compared to my VTech Video Painter, but I did return to it a couple years after sampling the NES in our household.

There was barrel-y any jumping in this platformer. "Quit monkeying around!" I screamed, throwing my controller directly at the Zinger. "This is just bananas!"

I would later be serenated to sleep by an Aquatic Ambiance, my life changed forever. I was no longer a child the following morning. I was a gamer.

The only levels that genuinely impress me are towards the very end. The bosses are alright but I see very little reason to come back to this when the superior offerings directly proceed this.

This game made me wanna rip my insides out (yet I wanna replay it)

Fantastic game. Can play this over and over again and it'll always be enjoyable.

One of the games I played as a kid and never finished. Now I know why: it's really difficult! The Nintendo 3ds emulator helped me finishing it letting me use savepoints. But, beyond that, it still as beutiful and fun as I remember when I first saw it on SNES.
The music is one of the big moments of the game. It's not just nostalgic, it's really good, giving such a charm to the game.
The controls are good, sometimes you can face a bug, but in general, it's acceptable.
There's a reason Donkey Kong Country is one of the best plataform games of all time: it piss you off when you lost (the final scene made me mad), but when you finish a challenge, you'd be full of joy.

Classic Platformer. It plays super smoothly, the audio effects are incredible and the music remains as one of the most iconic soundtracks in the history of videogames. Worth everyone's time.

Amazing how much they got right with the first in the series. This game would be outdone in basically every way by DKC2 but this game is still extremely important for laying the groundwork. If you enjoy platformers at all this is a must-play.

uga buga uga buga, eu gostar musica legal, uga buga uga buga

kkkkkkkkk eu nao joguei esse jogo no ps2 1000000 disc games

It’d ok, music and graphics on point

CADE UM NOVO DK NINTENDO PORRA????????

Not the best in the series, but still crazy fun. Great soundtrack, too.

good atmosphere and graphics and music but not very good platforming. bosses suck big time.

This is a true story.

I was about 7-years-old when Donkey Kong Country came out. It looked insane, and more than any other game for the system, it was the one that left me the most jealous of SNES kids. I needed to play it, but the only one I knew who had a copy was a boy on my block who I didn't get along with. I tried to suck up to him, but he knew I had a Genesis. He saw through my deception.

One day while riding my bike, I saw him run out of his garage to go over to a friend's house. With the garage door still open, I saw a golden opportunity... And so I snuck into his home and made my way to his bedroom, popped in Donkey Kong Country, and started playing. From the hallway, I could hear his mother approach, asking him a question that I cannot recall, clearly assuming her kid decided to stay indoors. As she turned the corner and peered into his room, she saw me on his bed playing the Super Nintendo. I'll never forget how loud she screamed as she chased me around his house and out into the street.

Just me doin' a little B&E because I love Donkey Kong Country so much.

Yet another SNES era platformer based on a cartoon that doesn’t do the original justice
Can’t believe they didn’t include Bluster Kong, the most important character

For me, DKC is ruined by its visuals. Not because it looks bad, or anything, I actually quite like it, but I think the smooth, irregular graphics make every single platform and hitbox impossible to immediately gauge, which for a game so demanding is damning. It's a shame, because otherwise, I think it's quite the great game.

Gangplank Galleon is awesome and you should play this game

Beat it on switch and new 3ds but I completed it fully on switch. Really fun platformer. A classic. If you like 2d plstformers you can't go wrong with this.

One of the greatest platformers of all time. Man, Rare was literally cooking

Amazing game with solid replay value. Always fun trying to plow through the game quickly when in the mood. Beautiful graphics (for the time), amazing music, and still lives up to this day. Only complaints are the secret levels are cryptic to find, and DK himself feels heavy and slow to play as.
