Revisiting Omori for the second time after 3 years I find that I appreciate it even more now. I had always loved it from the time I played it but then I saw it face the absolute most unwarranted hate train by way too many people which had quickly soured all the good memories I had with it right away. I feel like I managed to repress a lot of the good parts of it as a result of that and coming back to the game now, I'm rediscovering that this game still means a lot to me. There's just something very real and relatable about how the story handles fear that I haven't found other stories capture nearly as well as this does.
