Ignoring the fact that the puzzles are awful, if I'm going to play a horror game where the core gameplay is backtracking, I rahter NOT be in the same goddamn house for almost the entire playtime. Is the idea of having some tension really too much to ask for?
Play Silent Hill or Resident Evil 2 remake instead.

This is the most fun I've had with a game in a year! Beautiful art direction, kick-ass combat and relentlessness gore and violence that you don't see anymore.
It's not a game that I necessarily recommend to anyone because it is hard as steel! Dying so much and constantly repeating boss fights is definitely a big flaw in the game's difficulty scaling but it's just a case of learning through trial and error. Now that the hard part is out of the way, I feel that I'm only going to enjoy this game more on my second playthrough.

At this point, I should probably give it its own in-depth review like I've given the previous games. The only reason I still haven't done that is because I didn't see the point in reviewing something where there's almost nothing to be criticized, but after 5 playthroughs in a row and STILL finding new things to like about it on each replay, I feel that some conclusion has to be drawn to emphasize just how much I love this masterpiece. Of every game I have ever played, this is the closest one has ever gotten to beating Resident Evil 4 as my favorite game of all time.

My favorite part of this game isn’t even fighting the colossi, despite Phalanx (colossus 13) being the one I am always most looking forward to. No, what I love most about Shadow of the Colossus is the freedom of roaming around the forbidden land. There is so much attention to detail and so many achievements and items to go for and unlock, and none of it is done through loading screens, cutscenes or any NPCs disturbing the experience. It’s just you, your horse, and the giant monsters between the wide open spaces waiting to be killed.
