I wasn't cool enough in middle school to bring my Pokewalker to gym glass, but those guys who did lived their best lives.

Adds so much magic to the 4th generation while showcasing how substantial the 2nd generation was. I think the pacing is pretty quick and going back to Kanto doesn't add a ton, but for a brisk pace I would find that hard to fault compared to other entries. I guess there's a reason everyone wants these games back.

The best Pokémon game on switch, albeit with too much dry dialogue. An emphasis on collecting meant I had a bad team, so I would like more battles to really hone in on next time, but the open exploration and finding new mons to battle and catch was mostly seamless and enjoyable.

Maybe it was just the burnout of putting 40 hours into the release weekend, but man this is just not a great game. The open world shows promise, but battles don't scale.

Terrastilizing is a neat idea, but I find it hard to really care about the concept.

The performance alone is a huge detriment. It does not deserve so much success. It's soured the Pokémon franchise at this time. I didn't bother with the DLC.

Extra half star for Area Zero theme. And at least the legendaries like sub sandwiches as much as I do.

Gen 7 has the worst region design. Routes became uneventful when all you had to find was a trainer or two with one Pokémon. Also Z moves were terrible.

But it has Rowlet. There are other great new Pokémon designs, but it may have peaked with the Rowlet line.

It's easy to take the 5th generation for granted.

I don't think they'll ever have an experience this fresh. Not seeing any familiar Pokémon until the endgame may never happen again.

Incredible pixel art and a standout narrative and soundtrack. Maybe the most excited I ever was for a video game up until release.

If Grant ever reads this, I'm sorry for playing half the game without you. Next time get your mom to take you to the store instead of buying online.

Definitely not a perfect game, but my favorite in the series.

Generation 4 was my first real entry into the series, hundreds of hours spent in the Sinnoh region and battling in wireless rooms and Battle Revolution.

An icon of simpler times. OST slaps.

Aesthetically the purest Pokémon experience and best mon deisgns.

Generation 3 is goated with the sauce.

Incredible execution of a what a "live service" video game should look like. As a primarily single player enjoyer, this went under the radar until everyone decided to bite the bullet. Ten hours in and I'm glad we did.

Really love the flexible drop in and out multiplayer. Progression is not locked behind any paywall or aggressive microtransactions. Nothing I would reccomend by yourself, but if it's taken multiple friend groups over it's done its job.

Love to see this game succeed over it's more expensive and AAA counterparts. It has a solid vision of what it want's to be and deserves all the hype.

My favorite SNES game and peak 2D Metroid. While all the others are amazing in their own way, Super is the definitive Metroid game. Quintessential to the platform and while it can feel a little clunky, you fall into atmosphere and get absorbed by the perfectly eerie OST. Another timeless classic.

An all time great and must play. Best graphics and soundtrack on PS1. So legendary that it established half of the "Metroidvania" name.

How was I suppose to know Kaze would be "narratively" killed off if he wasn't A rank support? Even in casual mode?! Of course I had him at B.

Baffling. Final battle was ass so I never finished it.

The soundtrack has no right being as good as it is.

Great improvements over Phantom Hourglass.

I like trains.

Really polished and an easy pick up and play nature. Figuring out each level is a little dose of satisfaction. I made sure to perfect every level the game had to offer.

It's really tight and well designed. I still prefer DK '94 but this is a natural evolution of that idea.

I love the fact we're still getting handheld based games on what's considered a full console. But that premium Nintendo price tag should ease up a bit. This would have been great at $30 or $40.

It gets a bad rep as the black sheep of the Zelda franchise.

That's true, it's the worst Zelda game no question.

But it's a really fantastic NES game. Experimental and mechanically deep for the time.

It should not have a 1-UP life system nor send you back to the start after dying. But from another perspective it's a really good retro adventure game. Play with rewinds on NSO.

For the NES, it's incredible. As a retro game, it's still a masterpiece. A simple, primitive, but phenomenal game that started gaming's greatest franchise.
