Just as awesome as the first game, with greater emphasis on the Zelda aspects featuring even more killer dungeons and clever puzzles alongside heavier A-RPG elements including skill trees, a Diablo-like loot system (Which isn't as obnoxious here as it is in most games that utilize it) and special abilities. The story is kinda filler compared to the first game, but Death is a cool protagonist so that makes up for it a little.

Played this whole game with my father when I was like 14. The story is stupid, the controls could be better and the aesthetics are pretty bland, but the gun customization was actually pretty good and it was still a lot of fun and a good bonding experience for me so I just can't bring myself to hate the game.

The greatest unfinished game ever made. One step forward from DMC 3 and two bigger steps back.

The action scenes and dialogue are just as awesome and over-the-top as DMC 3, the combat is polished to a pristine shine, the addition of style swapping in mid battle makes it even more stylish and the arsenal of weapons is just as good.

Nero is a great addition to DMCs already great cast of characters, but the story is very lacking compared to DMC 3 and feels very rushed.

The music is just as blood-pumping intense as ever.

The level design is great...The first time you play them, but going through the same levels in reverse order with Dante is when you can tell the game was rushed and unfinished.

The combat and everything else in the game is so great that the rehashing of levels and bosses didn't bother me that much and even though it isn't quite the masterpiece DMC 3 is, it's still amazing and worth playing if you're a fan of the series.

2014

It has potential to be fun with friends if you like MOBAs. These types of games just aren't for me personally though

An amazing game that has aged surprisingly well even to this day. It's not quite as over-the-top as the sequels and the combat isn't as fast-paced and complex as it would become, but the atmosphere is incredible, the OST is fantastic, the gameplay is still a lot of fun, the bosses are well designed and memorable and the characters are endearing. A classic that instantly cemented Dante as one of the best and coolest video game characters of all time.

It's bad, but still better than DmC.

The gameplay is horrible, easy, not fun and very exploitable. The bosses are also garbage, but...

At least it still feels like a DMC game because the art and aesthetics have that Victorian gothic feel, the music is good, the characters and voice acting are super over-the-top and cheesy.

Also this game was the first DMC to implement dodge/rolling, wall-running, backflips and a bunch of other cool stylish moves.

I only played this about 3 years ago and put 22 hours into it and barely remember anything about it. Granted I do not have the best memory in the world, but that should kinda tell you something. There are vastly better roguelikes and metroidvanias available. I will give it props for being one of the first hybrids of those genres though.

Does a 25 hour game of hide and seek sound good? If so this is the game for you!

I'll admit the game can be legit exhilarating and terrifying, especially the first few times you encounter the Xenomorph, but how many times can you play the same game of cat and mouse and witness the same death animation before it gets stale?

The game has some incredible atmosphere and this honestly could've been a masterpiece and one of my fave horror games if it was a fraction of the length that it is because it is a cool concept, but it just wears out its welcome after 10 hours or so unfortunately and I have no desire to ever come back to it.

It's a good game, but I'll never understand why people believe it's some masterpiece and the greatest Sonic game compared to the classic Sega Genesis trilogy, those games are just so much more memorable to me and this feels pretty generic, almost everything this game does I've seen done in older Sonic titles, but better. What do I know though? That's probably just my nostalgia speaking since I grew up with those games.

A great roguelike that has amazing and addicting combat with a vast array of weapons and abilities to make builds from slightly marred by its bland level design.

Regardless it's still easy to sink hours and hours into this game just because of how enjoyable the combat is.

A fun, but repetitive and simplistic arena fighting game with an enjoyable 'What if?' styled fan-service story, great stage design, vast roster of characters and good music. Naturally if you're a Jojo fan you'll enjoy it more, but even then it most likely isn't going to land on an 'all time fave games' list for most people.

An incredible Touhou fan-game and the only Touhou styled bullet hell available on PS4 so I'll take what I can get.

Overall a very solid superhero game and a good Batman game. It nails the atmosphere, character portrayals, has great voice acting work and has good lore based on the universe.

The combat seems pretty basic and clunky by todays standards, but back in 2009 it was pretty mind-blowing and revolutionary, kinda why so many other games have tried to mimic it since then.

It's at least a step up from Lords of the Fallen and does some unique things to differentiate itself from the Souls games like being able to attack specific limbs of enemies and the sci-fi aesthetic is pretty cool.

It's still far from a good game and the combat and controls are very clunky and there's only a couple real bosses which aren't designed the best and honestly unless you feel the need to play every Soulslike made like I do I just can't really see why I'd ever recommend anyone to play the game.

This was the game that made me start thinking 'Maybe Kingdom Hearts was a mistake'

KH III despite being a bit better only ended up further enforcing those thoughts.
