The world was amazing and well realized, the combat was fairly engaging with a good parry and dodge. Bit combersome controls with so many spells. Eventually though you realize that leveling in the game makes no sense and the rpg elements also make no sense. Also that you can fly over everything which makes already meaningless encounters very skippable. I had my fill after 25 hours, final boss was a nail biter that I would have been mad if i had to do again. Story was okay not particularily memorable.

I place BOTW in my top 3 of all time I think. This really felt like a masters quest but the best masters quest ever. Fell back into the exploring groove right away and 80 hours just breezed by. The exploration was certainly a different flavour not sure which I prefer still. The fuse and tear drop abilities are so creative. I found the game to be quite easy with fuse basically meaning I always had a crazy strong weapon. Shrines were on par, dungeons also on par with divine beasts so a bit of a letdown there they still have not solved it. Also the game quests are kinda broken when you do things out of order which i did for two major quests. Still loved not hope they do something different next game though I think..new world maybe.

My first final fantasy. Won’t be my last! But despite I think this combat being fairly one note and repetitive without much incentive to change strategy other than boredom, it still kept my attention to do all the side quests etc. active time lore was a treat though I think they kinda phoned it in by the end or mine glitched not sure. Overall I see the issues with it but still had a good time. Also game designers cannot leave it to the player to find the fun and just from a strategy that is effective, my combat loop almost never changed cause it was always working I wish there were situations or something forcing me to change strategy in combat.
