Shit, I have too much nostalgia for this game. so many great tracks, designs, great early story and I love the friendship dynamic of Chrom, Fredrick, Lissa, and Robin.
Also so many sweet tiny fanservice bits here and there like the dead lords and holy weapons.

1998
I was never huge on this game when I first played it as a 6-year-old kid because I played SA2 first so I always preferred 2. But, there was a decent amount of time in 2011-12 when I was 9 before the remaster of SA2 where I had lost my SA2 GC copy and I was craving it really badly so, in compensation, I played SA1 on my 360 cuz it had the Chao garden and I spent an insane amount of time on this version, for that era alone it holds a special place in my heart and I grew to like SA1 a lot more than I originally did because of that period of time.

I have a certain respect for this game from playing it a bunch of times in 2021. A massive learning curve compared to the other games but I get a decent amount of fun out of it.

I played this game in 2021 3 times in a row with all the characters.
Probably the least flawed (special stages are skuffed) and most solid overall sonic game. Even though the game is solid, Its lacking the ambitious Adventure of 3&K and the wacky fun levels of Mania. Personally I prefer the ladder games but sometimes It's nice to jog through something simple and Sonic 2 is one of those games for me.

The mid combat and weird main quests make this feel like FFXIV:ARR. I love FF7 so much, Not sure why they took this approach for the early game, will come back to it tho.
