Focusing on the Japanese version here. It's a pretty ambitious title and definitely the best of the argininal trilogy. It's the first game in the series to give us full jet controls but what it even more important than that is the story.
It's the first Ace Combat game to give us one and honestly, quite a good one. Based around choices and different endings which somehow still has not be replicated in newer titles. And the futuristic setting is also really neat, giving us new types of fighter jets and scenarios never seen before.
It's a good game, but it's slow gameplay definitely doesn't make it an exciting play, but it is 100% worth trying out. Even the American version, though for story Japanese is for sure better.

Is the story good? Yes, it is. Writing as a whole is actually quite good and the game has a great atmosphere that captures the atmosphere of the witcher world perfectly...
That is it. Do not play this. It is extremely repetitive and really, the gameplay adds no real value anyway. The rts gameplay is actually quite cool and unique but after many hours, it just becomes part of the issue. Even more so when MOST OF THE GAMING IS WALKING THROUGH AN EMPTY WORLD BACK AND FORTH BACK AND FORTH AHHHHHH
Yeah don't play unless you increase the movement speed. It's not worth the mental trauma. (do watch a story synopsis though that's good enough)

It's not perfect but in the age where Overwatch is basically dead (and I don't even need to speak about team fortress 2), its nice having a hero shooter that is just, competent. It has unique characters with a really cool card system that changes gameplay entirely. It's nothing too special but it's nice we have it.

A once in a lifetime game if I'm being honest.
An excellent campaign with fun levels and great characters and a multiplayer that was unique and interesting.
But no lets release it in-between call of duty and battlefield. This game could have been something greater, but now it's dead and dying as respawn ignore it. It's a real big shame.

Ark Survival Evolved was a game that could have been, but never was. I was around during early access and it's ""full"" release was just disappointing. Nothing changed, in fact the game felt buggier and that's about it. Then wildcard decided to ignore all the issues and make dlcs. Really cool dlcs to be honest but that's all. This game had so much potential and it go nowhere.

It's a very weird game for sure. It stiff, it feels broken but the things it does, it does really well. The realistic survival mechanics are actually quite fun and best part about the game so its a shame that's all there is. I would love to see a full on rework of the game, giving it a more modern mechanics alongside all the good things they have. Maybe one day but considering how slow development has been for it alone, I doubt it.
