Speady finished World of Goo
People seem to be underrating this game because they compare its style to a Newgrounds flash game, appropriate for the early indie days this was released in. However, I see World of Goo more as a video game that closely matches the elegance of a Dr. Seuss book. Kyle Gabler went full-force on crafting something dark and beautiful here, from the world-building to the orchestral soundtrack; a somewhat-satirical eeriness to a planet corrupted by capitalism and the abuse of nature caused by it. I absolutely love the hell out of it.

As for the gameplay, I personally think it's just decent. World of Goo's physics-based puzzle-solving is definitely impressive for 2008, but I'm really just not good at learning how to make support structures and the like. Later levels adding new varieties of goo balls is a welcome design choice.
