Helldivers 2 is a fantastic return to classic coop games. This games combat feels frantic, cinematic, and calculated all at the same time. There is genuinely a lot of skill expression to be found in this game, and is shockingly enjoyable. Fantastic game.

Tunic is the best Zelda game, yes better then Zelda itself. There are very few games that have captured the raw joy of discovery and exploration to the degree Tunic has. It is an absolute joy through and through, and with a wonderfully heartwarming end. Cannot recommend to zelda fans enough. You owe it to yourself to play this.

Before Your Eyes is an incredible experience about truly understanding and appreciating the meaning in life that we define. An absolutely stunning showcase of art in gameplay, I HIGHLY recommend playing with a webcam.

Bold, Confident, Innovative, and Elegant are all words that immediately come to mind when thinking of this game. I have been anticipating Lies of P silently for some time now. With that hype comes hesitation now adays, but I can safely say that Lies of P put that hesitation to rest.
Lies of P is an absolute must play for Souls like fans. It takes the best elements of FromSofts best titles and in some areas outshines them. Gameplay, level design, and art direction are all superb. Aesthetically this may be my favorite souls like, mixing the ethereal and spectral aesthetics from Bloodborne with a steam punk setting. Unlike typical Soulsbornes, Lies of P is most similar to Sekiro as it actively tells a narrative throughout the game, and a damn good one at that.
My game of the year 2023. An absolute must play title. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for this franchise.

Hi-Fi Rush is a wonderful surprise and an ultra refreshing experience. It is very rare to see a game now adays that just comes out. No nonsense dlc, no early access, no live service model, just a high quality experience. Hi-Fi Rush is an ultra charming experience that I would recommend for everyone, whether you are new to games or a rhythm game veteran. There is something here for everyone.

Easily one of the best VR games out there. I recommend this to all people getting into VR.

Black Desert is one of the most aggravating games I have played. Combat, visual style, and overall gameplay are some of the best in the business for MMO's. However, pearlabyss throws all of these qualities out of the window with an excessive grind, a predatory cash shop, and nearly impossible end game.

An incredibly personal tale of loneliness, soul searching, and tragedy of life. This game is my favorite of all time. I won't attempt to critically analyze.

Risk of Rain may be my favorite rogue like. High intensity action, wildly different characters and playstyles, endless build potentials, and unlimited replayability. They seriously knocked it out of the park here, love it.
Shadowbringers is an incredible experience through and through. Gunbreaker and Dancer are both wonderful jobs, dungeons are the most exciting and fun they have ever been, and this is the peak of the story telling in the game. This is one of my favorite stories told in a game ever. 5/5 I recommend to MMO fan and hater alike.

Sonic Unleashed gets a bad wrap for trying to experiment like all other 3d Sonic Titles, difference being this one works. This is the best 3d Sonic has been in my opinion and has some of the best music in the series to date.

Persona 4 is just under Persona 5 for my favorite in the series. The upgrade from 3 to 4 here is just absurd. Characters are fun and interesting, the dungeons are fun and far less grindy, and you can control AI companions now!!! Very fun experience for those looking for a long game to sit down with.

A personal dislike on my end. The ending was the best part of the game, but the rest felt like boring filler. Its incredibly beautiful and has a wonderful OST, but the story telling lacks depth in the majority of the game.

My personal second favorite Halo game, being beat out by reach. This game had the most interesting arsenals, levels, and set pieces. The game is a bit cruel on legendary however.
2014
Shovel Knight is a wonderful platforming title that gave me quite a bit of enjoyment when I played it. Unfortunately my memories of it are quite hazy. 3.5 for foggy nostalgia.
