Whew ok well it's interesting, I wouldn't call AC a favorite franchise but I like it enough that I'm trying to 100% the entire series, but man this game was rough i thought after years of support it would be better but no. The servers just don't work sometimes, Arno loves to get caught on random background elements which make you unable to fast travel or do anything without restarting the game, and perhaps the worst sin of all for a sneaky assassin game: the guards are always flanked by dozens of snipers that can see you miles away. It's bad, I don't generally experience burnout but this was an actual slog to complete.

The worst part is, the story is actually alright, in the beginning but it just...kinda stops like they didn't know how to end it.

As others have said this game has been subject to a really strange criticism that I can only assume is from people that don't play many video games that Splatoon 3 is "more fo the same" when this has been perfected in such a way that I'd very nearly call this the best multiplayer game I've ever played. There's much more incentive for trying out different modes now, various quality of life improvements, the game is snappy and quick, no more weird almost taunting loss music like in 2. As always the lore and music are also very interesting.
It's an incredible start to a game that already has at least two years of constant content updates ahead and as it is right now? It looks like this is something I will play with my friends hundreds, if not thousands of hours in that time.

Black Flag is one of my favorite games of all time and sadly this is a weak spinoff. Its short to the detriment of the story despite a really interesting premise. The Abstergo segments are slow and plodding and don't really add anything new to the lore. The trophy list is also quite poor with several trophies just being a nonsense grind because the world is so much smaller than Black Flag that they just wont happen naturally.
In short: its just ok

2022

Its...cute? The art direction and mood are superb and so is the soundtrack. The story is really really simple and safe which is fine, but paired with a buggy game with a few ill designed achievements and it just comes across as "ok".

Really fun and funny game. I liked the characterization of the guardians and the story. A sequel could build on this a lot and fix a lot of issues. It is unfortunately pretty buggy too nothing really gamebreaking though and there are generous checkpoints.

A fantastic game with meticulous, thoughtful and often funny writing. It has a fair few unadressed technical issues, and there are a few points where the checks are arbitrary to me.

Honestly, its nearly one of my favorite games of all time now which is no easy feat. I have some complaints (the largest being level down is gated behind beating the game for...some reason) but im honestly going to hold out for the dlc before I say anything definitive. XB2's dlc was one of the greatest post launch updates ive ever seen and it was basically an entirely different experience afterwards with hours of more content and im expecting that to happen again. Ill update this when the expansion pass is finished next year.

Honestly a near-masterpiece, the remake only enhances what was already a fantastic game, any complaints i have are mostly that the Edo Era segment is a slog and some of the superbosses have tedious requirements but even that isnt enough to stop this from being a fun, charming, well written adventure with banging tunes

A fantastic sequel, to an amazing game. Overall I found the mystery weaker than the first but the characters and writing was stronger. The only thing stopping the game from being uchikoshi's best work is the (bad) decision to have a spoiler toggle, this made a lot of the older characters lack in special moments or impact due to trying to pander to newcomers, its a game design pet peeve of mine, sequels should be sequels not hooks for new players but I digress. The Secret Ending is one of uchi's best and you are doing yourself a disservice if you are not playing this game! Tama is best.

Really good, interesting plot though I wish there was a bit more of it as its quite short for an rpg of its kind, hoping the remake adds more, if it does this could be a favorite for me.

Amazing music, but other than that the game is very messy, combat is sluggish, the plot has great ideas and potentially interesting characters weighed down by an extreme bloat of playable characters, half of which are one-note, as well as the plot just losing itself. There are pieces of a classic, amazing, fun story and narrative in here it just never quite feels finished.

Really tight plot and characters, and an amazing, immersive ARG outside of the game that really enhanced the experience and helped me make some great friends. Uchikoshi's second best title

the combat in the first half is a bit hard to get through but the plot and more interesting depth of combat really pops off in the second half its honestly really slept on. The plot goes into a wild, interesting, mature direction I think a lot of fans were put off of trying by the art direction (which I will say grows on you)

Yoko Taro's worst work, controversial opinion I know but the lore is a huge mess where the other drakenier games connected very neatly, theres things that are still unexplained to this day despite many novels and expansions upon the plot. Its a fun action game but if you are into the story it leaves a lot to be desired.

The narrative of this game was so poor that I'm surprised Psychonauts 2 ended up being so good. The focus on having ~BIG NAME~ actors really ate up the budget of this game and it shows
