A very solid entry. I ended up enjoying this a lot more than I originally thought.
The vast arsenal, Story, and boss fights are big highlights of this game with just the minor issue is that it can be decently grindy if you want it to be. Other than that, a very solid game.

you hit the shrine and gain nothing

Monolith truly exceled with what they had here, even if the story was lackluster. The cat and mouse combat scenarios leads to a plethora of chaotic and intense battles with the replicas complimented with the games intense visuals like grenade explosions rippling and distorting your vision and densely packed particles of dust and smoke. Definitely one of the best shooters of 2005.

San Francisco if having fun was an option

Brilliant game start to finish.

Definitely not perfect but it is so close to it. Game design ingenious for the time still holds up rather well and remains to be an important stepping stone for the CRPG genre as a whole.

2003

Has a lot of flavor and charm to it. Very good time with this game.

2020

Ted Kaczynski if he knew alchemy and had a wand

Fun way to revisit this classic.

Loud, Fast and more importantly Fun

This game is nothing short of Spectacular. Even for this games shortcomings like the combat which doesn't pickup until maybe half way through the game. This immediately gets offset by the world's haunting and beautiful atmosphere while also being backed by the excellent soundtrack made by Alexander Brendon, Michiel van de Bos (Unreal Composer) and Dan Gardopee.
This is a masterclass example of developing a grounded and believable world.

Not much to say other than it's a beautifully crafted game.
