The game is more Pokémon so it’s literally fine.

The art style is really fun, the game itself is really cute and it’s extremely faithful to the original with some QOL improvements. However, it’s faithfulness truly hold it back from being a really good remake.

But seriously. It’s fine. If you want more Pokémon, it’s more Pokémon. It’s no masterpiece but it’s fun.

I think this game tried to be a mix of both Super and Fusion and it does a good job at the former and okay at the latter.

Fusion does everything very subtle and Dread kind of has all of it out in the open.

The one thing that is also really nice about Dread is that it is linear without you really realizing it. It is amazing game design. Really really awesome.

Holy shit this game was so good y’all

The atmosphere, the use of music/sfx, the environment, the story

Holy moly.

The game was fantastic. The handful of bosses really upset me due to difficulty but even then, it didn’t deter me that much. It was a wonderfully crafted experience.

A government called Space Federation did something bad?!? WHAT?!? Stop! Once I learned the computer was named Adam, I didn’t trust it.

Anyways, glad my animals didn’t die.

I assume people will come flame me. This is my first time playing any Metroid games. So, I have no nostalgia glasses or memories attached. That’s probably my problem. Anyways, here was my issues with it:

I’ve been playing them in order but doing the remakes (if any) rather than their original releases. So first I played Zero Mission then Samus returns on 3DS and now I am on Super Metroid.

Super Metroid is very clearly where every game in exploration action comes from. It’s definitely the defining moment in the genre that shaped gaming and still does. My issues with it were the ones that were definitely fixed in the remakes and those in the genre today: navigation, flexibility of combat and progression.

All three of those really caused me trouble in SM and constantly getting lost was frustrating. The icing on the cake, though, was how I thought I knew where I was going only to run into walls or unsure how to continue.

Going through that again and again tilted me. The other two I played, yeah, I got lost but it wasn’t for very long. SM was almost hellbent on making me backtrack in a way that made me wanna throw my controller.

I decided to instead, move to Metroid Fusion and just read the plot instead of playing it.

WHY DID THEY DO MY BABY METROID LIKE THAT
WHY
I AM SO UPSET
MY BABY NOOOOOOOOO

Anyways, that reveal would’ve made me cry

Just kidding, I cried reading the f***ing wikipedia article. I’m real upset my baby died…

ANYWAYS. Looking forward to Fusion. Sorry that I didn’t like it you guys. I feel like a failure but I’d rather have fun instead of fighting through something I don’t like.

This game hurt my hands but there is something about the exploration in this game that I loved.

And there is a baby Metroid.

update

WHY DID THEY MAKE ME CARE ABOUT THE BABY METROID

WHY

I AM GOING THROUGH SOMETHING

Picross with Sega stuff. It’s picross so if you like that, you’ll like this. Picross S games are rad.

I HAVE NEVER PLAYED METROID BEFORE

I have played many games in the adventure exploration genre before like Hollow Knight but I never really overtly enjoyed them. I try them all because I want to find one I enjoy. Metroid Zero Mission is really close.

I know this is a remake of the original so I probably won’t have the same nostalgia others have when it comes to this game. This genre is not what I usually play but I always try it. I got lost a lot, confused, and sometimes the game felt disjointed or hard to be hard. I don’t mind hard games but it didn’t give me as much satisfaction as say beating a boss in a Souls game.

Regardless, the fact I finished it, even as short as it is, is a step forward for me. I will be starting Samus Returns sometime this week, so, uh, maybe they’ll just get better from there?

I hate that I don’t like this genre because all the things Zero Mission is good at is the stuff I don’t like playing. Granted, I am very close to saying “hm, maybe it isn’t just Dead Cells that I like in this genre…”

Not as good as Theatrhythm but it is a music game. Some of the maps are really fun, others, well, are not. Some feel like they're hard to be hard. Not only that, the moving screen always distracts me during a song. I can get full chains, whatever, but it makes it harder to clear missions sometimes.

also the missions are annoying since some have to be on the hardest difficulty. I am bad at music games so that bums me out.

Also there is some story stuff because, well, okay I guess?

It is a fine game. All I can really say shrug

I really enjoy Kingdom Hearts without nostalgia goggles. I played the majority of the franchise for the first time in the last 6 months. The only ones I played were 1 and 2 over 10 years ago before this year. I really have enjoyed my experience.

Holy shit though. There had to have been a better way to do this. I think the additions are really nice but Nomura, in his special and absurdly unique fashion, made ReMind absolutely difficult to play.

I don't know how else to explain it other than wait for a sale on the DLC. I personally don't think the price is... well... good. This could've been a $5-10 or free update. It's kind of absurd. I don't feel robbed or anything since I got it all back in April during the golden week sale on PSN. It was like $30 for the full game and DLC...

I just feel bad for anyone who purchased this for $40. Anyways. I didn't come here for the story of kindom hearts but I was hoping for more. It is important story content, too. It takes 4 hours to get to and watching a lot of the same content... sigh

Played on the PS5

KH3 was a bit of a mixed bag. Overall, I enjoyed it. It took basically every part I liked about every game leading up to it and made it into a coherent and extremely fun system. Everything about controlling Sora, and a few others, felt so smooth (naruto running on walls was frustrating though).

The story was Kingdom Hearts. Darkness hearts darkness memories darkness oh look baymax is here darkness X-blade darkness X = key darkness roxas hearts darkness confusing thing darkness time travel? darkness

I ain't really here for the story at this point. The franchise makes no sense and I have a lot of patience for its nonsense. I have played all accessible KH games over the past 6 months (starting MoM soon) and I've just given up on the story. I am here for the ride to which is a wild one. I hate that, specifically, this game would be a wild mess for ANYONE who didn't play any of the "side" games. They are all important and it's really frustrating that Square doesn't make that obvious. It is not standalone in the slightest.

The combat system is definitely my favorite amongst the games overall. It had everything I loved in one place! Every keyblade having a form was SUUUUPER COOL. Many of the new and the old were designed extremely well and extremely fun.

Nomura has a strange sense of... idk... he makes so many things interactive when they don't have to be. I find it so strange and often times absurd. It was a similar issue I had with FF15 (another game I absolutely adored, more than this one) where not everything needs to be interactive for me to be engaged. I am already playing it. I don't mind sitting back for a bit and watching stuff. Some of it is really cute. Some of it is fun. Most of it, though, I found confusing, annoying, or weirdly timed. Bizarre.

Everything else about it is very Kingdom Hearts. If you have played 1 or 2, it's what you expect and a tad more.

What bums me out is that... well... idk... it just never ends. It isn't a bad thing... it is just... exhausting. Ending of KH2 would've been a good ending and maybe could've focused on another story but nahhh. I just hope, in this post Norting boys arc, we find a new and consistent footing to make it less alienating.

Anyways, I very much enjoyed it. Nomura is a strange man and he has a special way to make me love and hate his games.

I cannot continue this game due to the vertigo I get when playing first person perspective games.

However, playing what I could of this game was really really fun! The game made you feel sooooo good when doing.... well.... anything. I wish I could get more into the story and find out wtf is going on with the rebellion and the ghostrunner himself, but I can't play for 1-2 hours then get sick. No game is worth that sadly.

And the one hit kill did frustrate me but only because I got stuck and doing the same thing over and over for a small period made my vertigo worse faster.

Really fun while it lasted. I definitely see why people fell in love with it.

It is a completely fine JRPG with a lot of personality. Unfortunately the story doesn't completely carry it through the extremely repetitive gameplay. Specifically the dungeons and exploring.

It is a JRPG and I have a looooooooooooot of patience for repetitive mechanics and nonsense but I felt very underwhelmed. Anyways, it was still mostly fun and riding monsters is real fun.

The iOS version actually has some great controls. Not always consistent but worked extremely well. Exceeded my expectations on that front.

I finally got around to finishing it. It was fine. It was Fire Emblem. I don't think this is at all better than its conquest sibling but I mostly had fun with it.

It is fine haha Aqua was in it and she is queen

Played on PS5, completed proud mode/secret ending

Kingdom Hearts 3D brought over the stuff I liked about Birth by Sleep and added the bubble pets (They’re called Spirits but they’re my bubble pets). The bubble pets replaced the command board and also acted as AI party members.

I absolutely loved the bubble pets and the little mini games as well (pinball being my favorite). However I have one big gripe, unless you put a lot of effort into the games, the progress you make with the bubble pets is a snail’s pace. If the mini games as well as food/petting doesn’t seem ideal/fun for someone, raising the level and link points necessary for unlocking skills makes the game harder... significantly so. I loved this part of the game but if someone doesn’t have the patience for it... well... good luck with that.

Drops were generally fine and I enjoy swapping between Sora and Riku. I WISH DROP METER WAS DISABLED DURING BOSS FIGHTS THOUGH. I loved their different play styles.

Flowmotion and all platform information was fun af

The story is adds a huge extra layer of confusion along with some answered questions... mostly confusion. Going through the (awkward) worlds and grinding out the story was really fun. However, two out of the three boss at the end were NOT FUN. I ended up getting past them after a few tries but KH has this problem with making bosses hard to be hard. The optimal way would be to make a boss hard AND rewarding. These are end game bosses so I guess winning the video games should be award enough but it sure didn’t feel like it lmaoooo

I overall truly enjoyed 3D a lot. It really brought me a lot of joy despite the few frustrations.

I’ve been stream all the KH game in order this entire year (haven’t played them) and I can’t freaking believe I’m on the cusp of KH3 O///O
