It's exactly what you'd expect, honestly. Solid DS title

The peak of brilliant and polished game design

It was pretty damn fun and charming until it got repetitive.

I love the Taiko no Tatsujin franchise. This is a great game for beginners and rookies. The base game includes a wide variety of songs.

Been split between this and Taiko web simulators for my primary platform. My HORI drum works on both.

Psychologically, this game did something to me.

Jokes aside, it's honestly such a fun battle-royale adaptation of the TETRIS game model. The particle graphics, however, are very bright and obstructive and make it difficult to really play this game as much as I'd like.

Polished game, love the loadout customization. The control scheme really gets me feeling like I'm combo'ing/chaining attacks, and that's always satisfying.

Big difficulty curve, but worth the challenge.

I would recommend avoiding discussions concerning controversies surrounding the developer. No matter what your opinion is, this game does not discuss any of those politics. Many of the characters themselves are gender non-conforming in some way, but that's about it.

A standout in the RPG Maker "genre." Catchy music, vibrant pixel art style, and a touching story. The game was life-changing for me for personal reasons, and I can confidently recommend this as a must-play for those looking to see some of what RPG Maker can do. Can't get enough of the characters either. Very charming all around.

As a standalone Pokemon game? Solid experience.
As a Diamond port? Also solid, it's basically the exact same experience with different graphics.
As a remake of Diamond, given expectations based on past remake such as ORAS and HGSS? Borderline heartbreaking.

Much of what I loved from the original DPPT games has altered beyond charm (Pokemon contests, the Grand Underground). Oddly enough, many other arbitrary things weren't changed at all. Bugs from the original Diamond and Pearl showed up in this game... Odd.

Still an enjoyable experience if I forgo my childhood wishes.

One of the franchise's first big experimental leap in story and design. And one of its most notably successful.

Truly a standout game in the Pokemon series, and a well-needed breather at its time. With memorable character design, an intriguing plot, and a Dex with arguably the most personality-filled Pokemon, Pokemon Black and Pokemon White are still a joy to play to this day.

This game has wedged itself so deeply in my heart.

The narrative was such a letdown. The art direction was fabulous, the music was beautiful (Yasunori Nishiki is now one of my favorite composers!), and the gameplay was engaging. But... man I just couldn't get on board with how fragmented the story was told. I understand why the writers opted to craft an "open" story where players could choose any of the eight character paths, and navigate to others at their own whim and leisure. However, the lack of actual plot direction and meaningful character interaction makes it difficult to feel immersed in the world and characters.
