Well, with the servers shutting down today, I can say that yes, I completed Splatoon 1.
The vibes of this game, the music, the characters, the maps, the weapons, the idols, the splatfests, the funny winning dances, the miiverse posts (when it was still active)... Man, this game brought me so many memories over the years I've played it, which in my case was a pretty long time since I only got a Switch in 2020.
But man... I'm gonna miss it. Sure, S2 and 3 are still here with basically the same thing and even more songs and maps and yadda yadda, but-
It's not the same now is it?
Farewell Splatoon 1.

Professor Fizzwizzle is part of those early 2000s PC games like PopCap games that were not made for a big adventure or what but to spend a good time solving puzzles, having the best highscore, and finishing the game under 10 hours. Honestly? I like that.
This game was made by a small team whose lead developper went on to found Brace Yourself Games and create Crypt of the Necrodancer. For what this game is, they sure did well as a first game!
It's wacky, it's aimed for kids, it doesn't have a big story plot, but it will make your brain work harder than you think to finish those levels. With more than 130 levels in total, you will have enough to tell yourself "holy sh*t this is a nightmare", look up the solution, and feel like an idiot.
Also the professor has moves.
Maybe I'm too nostalgic over this game I played as a kid to treat it fairly, but I like this game.

I've graduated from the Peggle Institute, I am a real peggler now
Serious talk tho, this game is one of the classic old PC games where Popcap and MumboJumbo put out a ton of arcade games like this.
This game has a great unique touch to it, from the Master in each level, the cheap BGM and the one classical music when you finish a game, and it is fun to finish it
Some levels are unfairly based on RNG tho, the placement of the orange bricks you need to touch to win a level is sometimes working against you in the worst of situations.

You know, even if people say it was mid or less fun than the previous seasons, I had a lot of fun this chapter. It's the one I played the most so far, I had a lot of good runs with friends and randos, I rocked the music on the Festival stage, I am in love with the Lego mode (but I'm biased I love Lego all the time), and like Ryan Gosling says in that one movie, "I drive."

The onyl game that lets you car manslaughter a bunch of people, befriend a rando that happened to jump in your car and spare you this time, and win the game as Peter Griffin against Snake with a grapple hook.

A cute, cozy and relaxing short game to lash out your compulsive habits of ordering stuff as simple as pens, books, screws in a box or more. Some late-game puzzles (so uh, 3 hours in) are a bit more hard to get the idea around, but mostly a very good game to spend time relaxing.

Well, this is certainly a game. A Japan-only Spot the Difference / Rail-Shooter game that is less than a hour long, with good music at that.
Very quick game, really shows early 3D era where some games where just playing with 3D models and so (this game is just two screens of the same place, where they randomly swapped 6 to 9 elements with other ones). Repeating elements, 5 musics, difficulty not so difficult, the cursor sometimes goes too fast, but overall yeah, it does what it presented: a Spot the Difference game.
Really good music.

Okay: let's face it here. this game is the best out of the Rabbids licence. It got fun levels, cool mechanics (you use a medical bed to glide over roofs?? Incredible), cool themes (that one casino-themed level is staying in my head for a long time), and rabbids don't feel annoying for once. The game has a good difficulty spike, although it's pretty easy getting to the end without dying a lot. The music is memorable, with gipsy music fitting the craziness of the rabbids and licensed music that stays in the mind, funny voicelines and other...
Now. If like me you want to take the road to the Master 100% completion, you'll have a harder path ahead. Prepare yourself for time-limited parts of levels you cannot go back to unless you redo the entire level, precise driving, checkpoints that can kill your progress if you die at an unconvenient time, unfairly placed holes, and speed-oriented levels that will make you insane. And also the penultimate level that just KNOWS how hard it is to get that 100%. There's 31,750 items to get in this game, no more, no less. Good luck, have fun, stay sane.

Okay let's be real here. If you don't count: the insanely bad voice acting, the outdated models (for a GAMECUBE GAME), the classic "take this 20-second scene from the movie and stretch it out for a whole level", the difficulty level going as crazy as a rollercoaster, the music going in and out inconsistently, the minigames being err, bad and/or boring minigames, levels that for you to win them, need to be completed with precise controls or with very few errors, levels in which characters have one and only one line they repeat over and over, and other levels where they have 2! 2 VOICE LINES!, the "incredible" puppet boss, the minigame you have to complete 6 times in a row, the awful music during rhythm games, the "difficulty" of said rhythm games, the camera sometimes going crazy, the two minigames on ice, the audio levels unmixed between the game and the movie cutscenes, and finally the grand total of 2 hours of gameplay,
Then I guess yeah, the game runs well, doesn't have apparent glitches, is reactive, and "can" be fun at times.

It's called a road, it's called a Rainbow Road
It is a road that you go

Honestly tho, this is a great way to end this DLC! MKWii is always nostalgic to me.

Tinybuild when they were still good. The game feels very Flash Game-y (because honestly, that's what it is), but damn it is good. A short game tho.

Deathmatch is so fun. You'll never be fully prepared for it.
My favorite thing to do is to run up to someone like a mad guy only with the crowbar, start an impromptu crowbar duel, win, and instantly die afterwards to a rocket fired from 800 miles away.
Also tripmines. You'll never be safe from tripmines.

Okay, to treat it fearly in the vogue of indie horror games it came out to, this is a good one. The scare factor is well implemented, Mama is a hell of a thing to get away from, the uneasiness feeling of not wanting to be up in the night with a litteral children-killer toy on the loose is full well made,
but dang it is quick. And you get used to the jumpscare really quick.
Aaaaaand holy hell does Tattletail is LOUD. AND A MENACE OF ITSELF TOO. The second the hide n' seek games start you can see the hunger and groom levels depleting for your vicious unamusement, knowing full well you gotta run for the brush while avoiding mama before the haunting "BruuUUSH MeEee!" voice comes in.

And don't forget the hellish nightmarish situation of finding candles in the basement in near complete dark at the end because Mama is near. And charging your flashlight is a NO GO. NEVER. THIS THING IS LOUD. VERY LOUD.

I love this game.

You did it Bill, we're safe.

This game is great! A way more fleshed out and well put opus than whichever 2nd Mario Bros. you played before. The difficulty level rises just perfectly, the last world is a good pain in the arse (in the good way), and a whole new pletora of enemies, gimmicks, first debut of the Koopalings, very different levels with the Sun, the underground waters, the puzzles, pipes...

The "main" big problem would be that even if you do get a minimap (for the first time!) there's no instant replayability of the levels, you have to restart from zero if you want it. Aaaand also that holy shit the ending goes by quickly. A quick speech text of Princess Peach tricking you by saying "sorry our princess is in another castle... Just Kidding! ahah. Bye bye" and then it cuts to a very small credits and back to the menu. But still, a good game.

A cool platforming game. Death Wishes challenges are hard and irritating tho lol
