The perfect Pokémon for me, as it focuses on the reason why I like Pokémon : catching Pokémons !
The new formula works so well and I sincerely hope we'll see more games like that, instead of remakes maybe ? Also this takes place in Sinnoh so it made me a bit notalgic (my first game was Platinum).
I must say I appreciate the game being full-solo, now being able to complete the pokedex by ourself without being forced to do trades. And the game having just 1 version.
That being said the game does looks pretty bad (although nicer than Scarlet/Violet imo) and we definitely don't need 1 game per year (and now even 2 really Gamefreak please stop). Also the variety of Pokémon could have been a bit wider, and I thought the postgame quests surrounding legendary Pokémons were pretty boring, which is a shame considering Sinnoh has a great developed mythology.

I tend to defend Pokémon games because the big argument I hear often is that "you don't really like Pokémon, it's just nostalgia", and no I just sincerely like discovering and catching these new little creatures and completing the pokédex ( that's one aspect I like in this game actually, the way the pokédex is designed like a shelf and you actually see it being filled)
But I'm getting tired of the games not being polished; the art direction is a bit uninspired (don't really know how to explain that but, the way the light and colors look ?); combat was never my favorite part of the game but the gyms have never been this boring; I felt like the world was not particularly fun to explore ...
I did like the soundtrack, story was nice, and the final act was pretty cool

I was a big fan of World (especially Iceborne) and when Rise came out I was a bit disappointed : the game feels a bit too "straight to the point"; what I liked about World was the (a bit stupid) ecological aspect to it, following the monster's trail, catching little creatures for your room, completing the "pokédex"; the game also had prettier colours and light, and overall felt a bit more living to me.
One year later I gave it another try and played differently. I played exclusively in my bed, a little bit everyday, considered it more like an arcade game and I enjoyed it like that.

Beloved game of my childhood.
2 majors things a love here :
- the expanded Mario universe; they way they like to tweak classic Mario ennemies in various ways and create a lot of new stuff out of that
- the gameplay; I'm not a fan of turn-based combat but here they make it so fun by actually making you play during both yours and ennemy's turn. It feels so good yet I don't remember seeing this in many other games ?

Played today for the first time ! (I took Pikmin 2 as a kid because there were more Pikmin in it, and I never tried it after because I was scared of the 30 days limit)
I really liked the puzzles, I always love seeing this world's creatures, and I actually got quite a hard time in the water area ! (Final boss was awful)
Controls were a bit hard to master cause I'm really used to using wiimote ...
Knowing really well Pikmin 2, it was fun to see what was already there in this one, and how they expanded on it later.

I'm not necessarily super fan of Kojima, the first game of his I played was MGSV wich I really liked. But I loved every single trailer for Death Stranding and I really thought I would be playing the best game ever made : In the end, this is not the best game ever made, but it's interesting.
I really want to defend the gameplay here cause that seems to be the aspect most people made fun of, "it's just a walking simulator". And yes, it is the core of the gameplay, but it was deeply thought, it has a lot of depth, and the result is great. You are constantly pressing buttons to keep balance, weather and terrain affect how you walk, and there's a lot of freedom of customization ...
I really love the visuals, music, and overall mood of the game. On a personal note I wouldn't have mind if the game was more linear (main story kinda is, but the game encourages you to go back and optimise your path, do more deliveries etc) and totally devoid of online features (during my playthrough I never really found anyone's structure really useful, and there were a lot of stuff kinda spoiling the view). Speaking of online, marketing was a bit stupid : Kojima calling the game a new genre "Strand Game", when asynchronous online is really not new + it's not the core of the gameplay at all ?
And so while people tend to hate on the gameplay I don't see much people talking about the story beeing sometimes outrageously stupid !? There's a whole thing in chapter 3 (I believe) where the bad guy is disguised as a postman but you clearly recognize him and he's overdoing it, and if you look at the package he gave you it clearly says that it's a bomb but you still have to go deliver it and then Sam takes a nap and suddenly wakes up realizing that the postman was the bad guy and all of that is adressed in a serious way ??? Idk I think this kind of stuff is just unacceptable
Despites that I still liked some parts of the story, especially the end. It has interesting themes, and I'm a bit curious about the sequel, so I might give this game another shot at some point. I also still really love the trailers.
And this game made me discover Low Roar !!

A game I played a lot as a kid, yet never managed to get really far ... (And I get it now replaying it, it can just get very hard)
I love this world and its creatures, love the new pikmin types; the musics makes me very nostalgic ( I remember spending hours roaming through Piklopedia )
The caves are such a great addition, some can get really hard near the endgame and that's great, very challenging ! Maybe there are just a bit too much and the surface is less interesting than in the first game imo. It makes the overall pacing of the game a bit weird ...

I suddenly remembered this game while thinking about Subnautica. I gave it a try and it was some fun parkour, finished it in a few hours but didn't feel like trying to 100%/speedrun it.
I'm talking about about Subnautica because there's a little something special I find in those 2 games, something about the visuals, sounds ; I don't know if there's really something or if it's tied to nostalgia ...

Not necessarily a huge fan of Isaac, I did play a lot tho because there's just so much content ...
But I really enjoyed this expansion, loved the new zones, soundtracks, and all the new ideas they had for some specific sequences/paths. The new endings / final bosses are also really good !

I honestly really like the first game, I think it's one of the few porn games that are actually interesting and I genuinely like most of the girls.
Unfortunately the charm is gone for me. The vast majority of the new girls are not really well-written, or not interesting, or their gimmick is just sad (Candace ...). The sex happens way faster than in the first game (I mean sure, it's a sex game) + you can only double date, so you feel less close to the girls. New artstyle is good imo, UI is nice although the shop is a little complicated to navigate through.
The big strength of the game is the gameplay, having way more depth in this sequel, specifically the "baggage" mechanic that actually ties together characters and gameplay !

I played this first when it came out and I enjoyed it for a bit then got tired of it so I looked at a walkthrough to still see the ending and it felt like some pretentious shit (some "branlette intellectuelle" as we say in french) so I just moved on.
Came back to it a few years later and I loved it. I'm amazed by the puzzles, illusions, and how everything is taught to you without any text. I love the beauty and calm of the island.
The endings are still a bit of a "branlette intellectuelle" to me haha. But that secret lecture about easter eggs was super interesting !

I love this world and it's inhabitants. I come back to it every now and then, and I always end up playing for weeks ...
It's both very calm and tiring haha, because of all the work you get to do and the time passes by so fast. And 2 years ingame later you're still doing the same things but you now have a kid haha
The villagers are all very likeable and some have a very touching storyline. The soundtracks, visuals, and overall atmosphere are so great, I think it's the work of art that encapsulate the best each season !
I played this game for the first time not long after leaving Animal Crossing New Horizons, and while it's not exactly the same game I feel like it has that old Animal Crossing charm that ACNH lacks.
The only flaw I see in this game is that you can do way too much stuff way too early ( I had the chance of being thaught the game by a friend ). And then there's just more and more content as you play ...
Also I love Abigail

Had a hard time really getting into it because of the first day ( the clients made me uncomfortable haha )
But I liked it in the end. Great aesthetic and soudtrack, and just the idea of doing a visual novel with the bartender context is great, you just need one background and you easily feel closer to the characters, wondering who will show up the next day.

2016

I LOVE FISHES so I love this game !
Kinda low-poly visuals are very pleasant to look at, environnements have very nice colors ( I particularly like the final zone, because I also love swimming pool aesthetic if that's a thing ? ), great variety of fishes and the controls feel good imo
It's just a bit sad that the structure is way too similar to Journey

Big fan of Subnautica here, I was a bit afraid when the release trailer came out, because of all the story cutscenes and dialogues and characters, as the story was not necessarily the strength or the appeal of the first game. And I was right to be afraid.
The main problem I have with the story is how it's segmented in 3 different quests and how it badly works with the open-world structure of the game. Finishing one quest just gave me some info about another quest I was already done with. Another time, the game straight up told me ( because our characters are constantly having little not very interesting discussions ) "Remember that place ? Go there now" talking about a place I never actually explored ?
Overall, the exploration is just really not as good as in the first game. In Subnautica, you're dropped at the very center of the map, so you can go in whichever direction you want ; and during the second part of the game you have to explore those massive interconnected caves. In Below Zero you're dropped at the very north of the map (not even in water), so you can only go south and if you set your base there like me you have to go through the same zones everytime you go explore ; and there are a few caves here and there.
Same with the story : In the first game you crash on the planet so your first goal is to survive until you get to leave, and while stuff happens and some story elements do enter the stage later, ultimately the goal still stays the same during the whole game. In Below Zero you go volontarily on the planet to find your sister, and once you do that well you kinda stays there to do what feels like some sidequests. ( I've read that the main writer left the team at some point during the production of the game, and that the scenario was changed a few times )
The game is not awfully bad; the environnements and fauna are still very beautiful and unique, and I can still feel that Subnautica vibe/mood while playing. I can also understand that they tried to do stuff differently with the story being more present, or with that whole on-land section. But I had very high hopes and it just didn't met the standards of the first game ...
