she's cute but she's not Animal Crossing: New Leaf (2012) for the Nintendo 3DS

Absolute masterpiece of the tactics genre.

The more I play this, the more I love it. An elegant little game with exactly the right scope for a tactics game to make it near endlessly enjoyable. It has become my go-to game when I've got a few minutes (see: what I do during every Webex meeting I have to sit through in a work day).

Would call this a perfect game except there is something about the randomness of the first turn that drives me a little crazy. Just for instance: playing the train maps, especially on the later islands, feels almost like a crap shoot as to whether I will have any chance of saving the train. Four or five enemies and they all either target the train or post up in its path on the first turn? Oh well! This doesn't happen in the majority of instances, but it's really frustrating when it does.

ANLP puts you in the position of someone who just discovered a missing phone as they snoop through this stranger's entire life. It weaves together a really fascinating narrative full of interesting characters that you never meet. Excellently uses the game's mechanics to direct the narrative as you continue to learn more and more about sam.

literally the only reason I didn't rate this five stars is because I'm SO DARN BAD at it, lol. I needed to use the help phone number thing (it's been a while since I've played it) every five seconds

one of the peak co-op experiences. too dumpy to call the whole thing great but full of so many wonderful cheesy moments that its an instant classic. still, play co-op

The push for action felt like a logical move considering the success of Resident Evil 4. It's not the best title in the franchise but I was properly introduced to Resident Evil through this game and it's still good fun, especially with other players.

Back + 3, Forward jump + 2, Forward, Down 3, Down + Back + 2 (burn), Back + Forward + 2 (burn), Forward 2, 2. that's the input for my favorite black canary combo. this game whips ass

A universal improvement over the original in every way. Nothing changes the fact that NRS manages to make the best single-player component in a fighting game just about every time.

furious trumpet sounds and rayquaza cries

Gleefully strange, grim and smart, a very welcome fresh take on horror games.

MY FAITH IN FAIRY TALES HAD BEEN RESTORED AGAIN BY THIS WONDERFUL ITERATION OF A WONDERFUL GRAPHIC NOVEL OF A WONDERFULLY WONDERFUL WORLD
