Steam Next Fest February 2024

Nothing here!

this game basically feels like the free exploration parts of Deus Ex, and that kind of fucking rules so hard.

Fuck yeah, i love cartoons. It honestly felt so refreshing like im back in that wonderful cartoon brain. Reminds me of Costume Quest. I fuck with it.
Fucking MMO Floating islands where there are just a bunch of simple puzzles to do that make your numbers go up. The game looks pretty and I guess you can just solve puzzles with friends. For sure gonna play.

This fucking game will smack you across your face you are not prepared for what it throws at you. The start of the Demo has this pixelated XP bar at the top, no idea what it was. Then you are riding a bike and it faintly plays chiptune. Keep in mind this is like a 3rd person "walking sim" A24 Story ass game. That XP you get from picking up objects and lore shit. When you level up, the perks you get just give you more XP. So you are just gaining XP to get more XP that doesnt influence anything. The music is also very like chiptune techno.

This game fucking rules, so utterlly fascinating with its choices.
fucking crazy ass artstyle goddamn. controls a little annoying but fuck it bro
good vibes, probably will enjoy.
cool mix of 90's anime OVA, synthwave/vaporwave, hotline miami murderspree.
probably gonna be one of those classic indie horror games.
lizard metroidvania (hollow night influenced). The weapon is a spear that swaps between a bow. Fun.
buzzfeed quiz but scary and i like how it does it
major dopamine Y2K aesthetics time loop dreamcast
Metroidvania roguelike. The dungeons have doors and TP portals like Dead Cells, but much slower paced. It also has a weird "remove your head" mechanic for platforming (like Dead Cells). It also has building mechanics. IDK, probably cool.
Interactive Music Video. Awesome arts and crafts visual style. I love actuallly correlating music to what im doing!!!
evil hell obby
Chinese 2D platformer action game. It his very badly translated, but that makes it funny. The pixel art is pretty and it seems to be a very meta Video Game™, i fuck with that.

when i first saw this game a while ago, i was kind of hating on it because I thought the art style was too busy, but actually playing it is dope. Metroidvania again, but enemies drop organs and such. These organs can heal, but are also how you build up experience to spend on perks.
refreshingly amatuer(?). Tutorials powerpoint slide in and its so charming. I cant tell what engine this is in cause I've never seen anything start this way so I fuck with it.
Super Liminal/Portal-esque puzzle game. It does some gravrity stuff and shifting rooms on their sides and it actually hurt my brain, but cool.
fast paced mega man.
souped up 8-bit metroidvania. Kind of got that old stank (up to you to like stank). Ill keep an eye on it.
I wanna say this is a Simpsons: Hit and Run-esque, but it doesnt really have the GTA missions structure and more free form platformer. enjoy the humour.
structured like a marble game, but you play more as a tire than a ball.
Kind of cool Metroidvania. Combat doesn't feel super good though. The backgrounds are pretty and it being African is dope as hell.
kind of cool combat puzzle time loop thing.
Avatar Metroidvania in which you control elements.

I like the pixel art, reminds me of some edutainment games. The combat doesn't really feel good though. I wanted to play until I got another elemental power (dont know if I would), but I got soft locked bug.

neat physics based puzzle game. Dope art style.
king of dry point and click. good 3D art style.
Souls Like. I like the art style. The Pixelated 3D model kind of feels like a 3D HD 2D thing going on. It has a focus on directional attacks/parrying, didnt get a grasp on it. It is also a MMO kind of in the way that you can see ghosts of players in real time.
first person click and point adventure. Good style (too dark though), has some personality. Couldnt find the shit for the first puzzle so...
rough around the edges 3D platformer. dope graphics/vibes.
i think there is an objective, but I explore too far away and its unrestricted where you can go so I think just got lost.

Good filter on it.
So like Zombies Ate my Neighbors/CoD Zombies/get fuel missions of Left 4 Dead(?). ZAMN in the way its top down action, and the weapon slots remind me, CoD because it has perks like it does, and you literally just collect gas cans like L4D.

kind of cool, idk if I will play it.
Chinese Hollow Knight. Not as good. Has a Parry.
unpacking/sims-like. Just furnish stuff. This can involve you opening cabinets and refrigerators to put stuff inside them. That was a bit much for me, but cool for someone who wants to.
went into this hoping this would be funnre than the first one, not really, and it doesnt have the cool visual style the first had.
Cute pixel art, not very fun though.
Co-op backrooms with voice proximity. Has potential but this Demo isnt very much.
Souls-Like. Alpha so not very fun, and it gave me code vein vibes in the way that it showed me too many mechanics (more than Dark Souls) and my brain turned off.
I like that you could swap between characters, and the meideval characters in a like modern concrete city.
one of those blasphemous-esque metroidvania's (dont like them).
The music was kind of droney thought, liked that
i played this demo before and stopped after i had to hide in a box. I got a little further and it seems like it has some cool stuff but I still did not care.
Murder sim i guess? Its like a boomer shooter, you swing a sword mindlessly and things die, move really fast. Idk, just feels too "murdery" for me i guess

Oh yippee, a horror game with high fidelity graphics that is obviously low budget and runs like crap so bad it makes me nauseous. I dont wanna hate on indie dev's trying to use their resources like Unreal 5 to make games, but it just is optimized.
Game in which you are a jpeg of Doge and you have a grapple tongue. Not fun.
