Absolute slam dunk instant classic. It's completely unjustifiable that microsoft is shutting down Tango after they made this.

Best roguelike in years. Love seeing a strategy push and pull against the RNG as you progress through a run, and the satisfying plink plink plink of every hand scoring bookoo points as you play it. Looking forward to further updates, and the rest of LocalThunk's career!

Boomer shooter before they were cool. Incredibly difficult polygonal roguelike with very fun movement mechanics. I think if you removed the acid from this game I would have won 75% more runs than I did.

In this game you can really feel the rhythm of the track, as the gameplay doesn't play to the strict beats but to the underlying beat that you can feel. Make sure to get to the end, as the final boss has a trick up its sleeve that really surprised me.

Classic puzzler with well designed puzzles with a well written story backing the whole thing up. I'd recommend this to anyone.

I've been following this game since I finished Going Under and it was still being referred to as "Game 2" on the Aggro Crab discord. I'm so glad I did, because this game is fantastic. Amazing level design, it reminds me a lot of the vibrant colours and atmosphere of Hi-Fi Rush. The combat is fun and challenging and the shells are useful and fun to experiment with in combat.

I will admit, there are a few rough edges here and there. Some minor bugs, some sequence breaking/dialogue out of order, but it's nothing that would make me consider this game any worse. Hopefully most if not all of that will be fixed in patches anyway. Additionally, considering they did a DLC/content update for Going Under I wouldn't be surprised if they do some DLC/bonus boss fights later on too, or if not that at least a proper NG+ mode.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this game. I'm glad this game is getting pretty popular too since I know the Aggro Crab team deserve this success, the game is made with passion and it really shows.

1993

Set the standard for puzzle games. It's dated in some places but still holds up really well for the most part, you don't really need to play the remakes.

I feel like there's a lot of missed potential here. The graphical style is great, the concept is great, but the gameplay is just... meh...

The best narrative game ever made. If you like a good story, if you like "your choices matter", you will love this game.

2018

Dusk was a great introduction to boomer shooters for me, the weapons, enemies and levels are very tightly designed, the boss fights can be pretty fun at times, and the music is fantastic.

Interesting take on an FPS game, personally I think the focus on the slo mo mechanic was not to my taste, but I can understand the appeal of a lot of the other stuff in the game.

Great character action game that feels familiar to someone who's played DMC3 but very different in a lot of ways. The story is a little hard to follow, but that's not really important. What you're here for is the very well designed and balanced combat, with a whole arsenal of weapons to master the combos of.

Honestly just don't think I get it really. Thought the story was cool/interesting but the levels and combat I just couldn't get on with. Probably a me thing, because everyone says this is an absolute classic!

2016

Since I played this after Eternal I'm a bit biased, but I'd say this falls slightly behind eternal in terms of design. The combat was great, and we definately wouldn't have gotten Eternal in the first place without this game, but I can't help feeliing like there's just something missing in 2016. I don't feel free and weightless and flying around the arena like I do in Eternal. Doesn't make it a bad game by any measure but if this game compares to anything it has to be its direct successor.

I wish phantom pain could have been like this. Even though it was only one map, the missions here felt really fun to play through, infiltrating this large compound with little gear. And the story, of course, sets up something very important in the future.
