Been following this game since it was twitter gifs. Very enjoyable.

You expect me to rate every board game (past, present and future) in a single review???

"What if an itch.io game was real?", asks this 2D immersive sim, its tricks hidden deep up its sleeves.

Best roguelike in years. Love seeing a strategy push and pull against the RNG as you progress through a run, and the satisfying plink plink plink of every hand scoring bookoo points as you play it. Looking forward to further updates, and the rest of LocalThunk's career!

Gold standard for puzzle games. Incredible clue-based puzzle design, really unique and interesting visuals and animations, all combined with an interesting story that sees you through to the end.

Really fantastic game! I thought the deductions were very fun to figure out, you are given a lot of freedom on how you want to figure out each one. I think the story is interesting, but I think it's a bit of a missed opportunity to not make the plot have more crazy plot twists and moments, it's relatively simple and by the books as it stands.

2021

Not really that good. Tries to be a speedrun game but the core gameplay loop is just not that fun nor does the movement feel really tight and skill based (as you would want it to for a speedrun type game).

Pretty damn fun Doom Eternal inspired boomer shooter. The jokes will age like absolute shit though, but I'm sure the devs are very aware. It will be a relic of its time, completely by design.

This could easily be a portal 2 DLC and you wouldn't even know the difference! Really great job on the puzzles and environments. I do think the dialogue in a lot of places wasn't amazing, or at least doesn't really hold up to the standard of portal 2, but that is something that is a lot harder to get right, especially for a free mod.

Loved the gameplay all the way through, and the story went places I never thought it could. Really great narrative overall - felt like everything was set up from the beginning to give you these moments of realisation and discovery.

1993

Set the standard for puzzle games. It's dated in some places but still holds up really well for the most part, you don't really need to play the remakes.

Unfortunately following Riven is quite a hard task. The puzzles were significantly worse, although I did enjoy the acting and storytelling in this one, it was a welcome addition to a game much more similar to Myst 1 than Riven.

Gives me the exact vibe of perusing museums in real life with my family. I love looking at all the pieces, seeing the little nuances and brush strokes and polygons. Not for everyone, but definitely for me.

Very high quality stealth game with great enemy AI and great level design. If I'm honest though... I kinda wish the whole game was more similar to the the DLC mission. The tools that Dosan has in my opinion lend to more fun and creative scenarios, and the mission structure of the DLC was much more interesting, to me at least.
