I remember playing the original version of this game all the time as a kid on the OG Xbox so I was excited to revisit it when this remaster came out. It's fun! A deeply flawed game, one that hasn't aged perfectly in it's writing and has some missions that just are not fun. But this is a good game, even outside of the nostalgia you get that lovely, pulpy theremin music. The fun suite of weapons literally all of which are enjoyable. And the jokes that do land are pretty damn funny. It's not perfect but it's definitely worth a play, and I'm glad a relic from my childhood got remade.

This game is really fun. I'm a huge mark for games with multiple classes and outfits to unlock for each so this was a really good title for me. I like the different combo's of characters you can form your party out of as well. This is a remake of a very old RPG and you can tell in it's story and dialogue and world, It doesn't lack for charm but it does lack virtually any depth, which is okay it's just not really my thing in RPG's. Still, it was fun enough that I played it comfortably and happily until the credits rolled.

I can't speak to it's multiplayer as it isn't really my cup of tea but Halo 3's campaign alone is a blast, if ever so slightly too short in my opinion, though at least that helps it avoid padding. The suite of weapons is more refined from Halo 2's which is both a compliment and a complaint as I enjoyed how broken certain dual wielding combos were in that game. There's still plenty of weapons that shine in this title though.

I think for my money, it's probably the best game in the series, not my favorite, but a very refined, gorgeous, and iconic game.

Shadow Warrior is a fun time. Pure and simple. It contains some immature humor that you (mostly) won't find funny if you're older than 15 but that's the biggest drawback. The gameplay is fast and fun, it's got a suite of very pretty levels for you to slash and shoot through, and it doesn't waste your time at all.

Black Mesa is so good I almost want to say you should just play it over playing Half Life 1 if you're looking to get into Half-Life. In my opinion it captures the original game while cutting almost everything that I didn't like in the original. I think Half Life 1 proper is still worth playing just to really see what it was like, but Black Mesa is the definitive Half Life 1 experience for the modern day.

Prey is a fantastic game that I will always be pissed was shafted by terrible publisher decisions. Probably my favorite immersive sim as it stands.

The space station the game takes place on is gorgeous with so many secrets to find and places to explore. Playing the game on hard is the move as it makes the enemies scary and incredibly dangerous at first but as the game goes on and you get more powerful there's such a delicious curve to the difficulty. I truly felt like my arc from researcher alone and scared on this space station to master of my enviroment, killing the aliens with my all powerful guns as I break down the games final mysteries, was perfectly executed.

It's skill tree system being a craftable item was so fun as well, it made progression feel interesting and different from tons of other games.

I was truly captivated by Prey. It is a fantastic game.

Truly such a good game. The concept of the levels taking place within someones mind gave the dev team so much freedom with making all the different levels, it's practically a platformer theme park, and one that's so fun to play. From it's artstyle to it's characters it practically oozes a type of charm almost wholly of itself.

This game didn't quite hit for me as hard as I feel it hit others, but that doesn't stop it from being a good game overall. The visuals are the biggest draw, the black and white art style and all the different ways they use contrast and framing in the background and foreground is fun and cute. A couple of puzzle's are way too obtuse but that's my biggest gripe.

A sort of Grimm fairy tale-esq story, backed up by some wonky but fitting gameplay that I think elevates it's narrative as you go through the game. It's a got a neat world, some stunning vista's, it's not long, and is fun the whole way through.

Far Cry 4 is stupidly fun in it's beginning. I enjoyed Ajay a lot, a enjoyed Kyrat as a setting. I even enjoyed the little checklist objectives in the open world. Unfortunately this suffers from the same problem that every Far Cry suffers from. It's too long. It just keeps going and going and the objectives pile on and by the time the game was over I was exhausted.

I thought this game was pretty good. It's pretty easy but it's combat is engaging, It's area design is easily the most interesting part. It's a short and sweet game, nothing too exceptional but absolutely worth a play if you catch it on sale.

Halo 2 is a lot of fun. It's a got a broken weapon sandbox with the ability to dual wield creating some absurd weapon combo's. It's the hardest game in the series in my opinion, with lots of crazy situations like throwing thirty brutes at you or making you go down eleven separate firing ranges for Jackal Snipers but for the most part it isn't frustrating just incredibly tense. The Arbiter chapters are not as good as Master Chiefs, and only get worse as they essentially become giant flood killing levels that last too long. That being said I do enjoy The Arbiter as a character and his first few chapters are very good. I don't have nostalgia for this title like i did for CE as I didn't get around to it until the Master Chief Collection came to PC, but I still greatly enjoyed it. It's the one I go back to play most often.

Look. It's got a lot of problems. A problematic setting, a poor story. But you get a friend and you crank this baby up on co-op and you'll have an amazing time. I played it on Veteran and we had an amazing time and were laughing virtually the whole time. It is truly such an exceptional Co-op experience. Going through it's absurd cutscenes, whacky QTE sequences with insane death animations if you fail, accidentally killing each other, pressing that damn "Hey! over here!" button like a million times while your partner is doing something to popping off shots in engaging and difficult combat arena's together. Truly SO fun.

What a fantastic game. Johto was such a fun and cool region. I also found this game to be pretty difficult in places which created tense situations I really loved. For the first time ever playing Pokemon I felt the intense rush of being backed against a wall and having to be clever to make it out. It also features one of my favorite legendaries of all time in Lugia, and one of my favorite regional dex's in the series. The national park theme is basically a shot of pure tranquility.

A simple but incredibly effective game that showcases the power of communication and companionship. A game that tugs at all your human strings. One of my highest recommendations if you want to see a work of art elevated by the medium of video games.
